Boots Advantage Points Expired... A bit of a rant
Okay, so. I discovered today that Advantage Card Points expire one year after the last purchase, so if you don't buy anything from them for a year, they're gone.
Now, it's probably in the small print and definitely in the recorded message when I contacted them by phone to ask about it, so it's clearly my own fault, but I kind of think a reminder email would be reasonable.
So, Boots customers be aware - Use them or earn them, or lose them.

As with any loyalty "points" system, get them spent.
I hoard Clubcard points to get cheap Railcards once a year but anything else (Boots, Nectar, Superdrug etc) gets spent at the next possible opportunity.
Unless there is a specific reason to keep saving them, best to assume that Boots et al are all going to go bust next week, taking your loyalty points with them (or they will get nicked by a hacker or they will get wiped by a computer bug).
Same logic applies to gift cards.

I got a reminder email shortly before mine were about to expire…

I remember the announcement, I think it was last year. Your points will expire if you do not buy anything in a year. I don't collect a big amount of points and use them for small items.

There's no comeback, so I can either have a tantrum and kick them out the door, or suck it up.
All for £21.97.

I don't know how to check when they expire, any ideas?

You can find a points statement in the app (& online?) which will give you the date of the last transaction, then add a year to that? It's very well buried down in the menu system.
Not aware of anywhere that actually gives an expiry date.

So did I.
Maybe the OP missed the reminder or it went to the junk folder.

I do get a lot of Spam, Egg, Sausage and Spam, but I normally check.
Never mind, I'll cope 😎
