Drafting POPLA appeal now. Should I only include the original set of photos, or should I also include the four "electronic permit holders" signs - one of which says "registered users only" outside tariff hours? I could argue that it is only one sign out of around 10 in the car park and it is not legible at night

Do not show any image of a sign that doesn't help you. And embed time/date metadata to prove your pics are current.

    Hey Alan,

I wonder what the outcome was here? I just had the exact same issue. I'm not from the area and parked there at 19:20hrs on a Sunday evening. I took these photos just in case an issue came up. Like you I saw nothing about registered users only on the main tariff signs.

But whilst researching the matter this thread came up. It would be at least a 2 hour drive each way to return to the car park to look for any other signs.

I wonder if I should bother to appeal, or just pay?

I'd appreciate any thoughts and advice

Nice evidence pic. But why do you think your choices are 'appeal or just pay'?

Nobody pays, even if they lose at POPLA. But you won't lose at POPLA with that evidence.

Start your own thread and put the idea of ever having to pay this scam invoice right out of your head.

  • I've missed the POPLA deadline. I didn't see any communication on this until I received a letter from GCTT enforcement agents information me of their intention to transfer to OAK legal services. I've attempted to appeal, but I don't have that option now. I've sent an email to UKPC complaints and automated response stated they'd get back to me within 28 days, and appeal not accepted in that inbox. GTCC told me on the phone that I cannot appeal through them. I either pay, or they start legal proceedings

  • Thanks a lot! I feel very stressed about this, hard to think straight. Would be far less stressed if I hadn't missed the appeal deadline. WIll look at the thread now

So I've had a look at this thread. It's somewhat reassuring, but there's no way to know how many coases progessed - like what's the percentage of discontinued cases vs those lost by driver. Also I note that my case has been referred to Oak Legal rather than DCB. Seems like they're a branch of GCTT. Doesn't seem to be any history on Oak I can find. I few cases in progress currently, but no outcome yet.

    Any thoughts/advice?

"what's the percentage of discontinued cases vs those lost by driver."

    100% discontinued.

No defended UKPC claims continue to hearings on this forum.

"Also I note that my case has been referred to Oak Legal rather than DCB. Seems like they're a branch of GCTT. Doesn't seem to be any history on Oak I can find. I few cases in progress currently, but no outcome yet."

Correct. We have not seen a court claim from them yet.

Just surmising but I suspect they might be waiting for the statutory Code of Practice that the MHCLG will lay before Parliament this Autumn (i.e. very soon) and also are probably still putting a paralegal call centre team together.

Oak Legal are merely ZZPS. Same group.

    Ignore them.

Most likely the file will end up passed to DCB anyway. Sit tight.
