TBF they did mention it as a possibility in the very first post. I've recently come back to FTTP from VM, the FTTP was fitted about 3 years back but OR still had to come out to do a re-connect whatever that entailed.

I did ask about the connection in an earlier post but anwser came there none.

I didn't recall who I was with 2 years ago and Vodafone didn't either.
The boxes don't say who the provider is, apart from the Virgin box.

The ONT wouldn't have the name of the ISP but knowing that you had full fibre into the property would have got you a very quick relevant answer.

Many City Fibre ONT’s are branded and have the company name on them
The external wall block also has the company name
It may be ONT was switched off at the mains , and because of this CF couldn’t ‘see’ ( or confirm ) that the ONT was operational they arranged the visit even though strictly speaking one shouldn’t have been necessary ( arguably no visit were needed if the ONT had been left alone and connected to the mains ) , it may also explain why the installation didn’t take long , if all CF technician had to do was reconnect the mains power to an existing ONT , or it could be City Fibre have a useless records system and the address was showing no previous service when it had been installed years earlier on behalf of Vodafone
TBH , it’s seems odd to me that the householder wasn’t aware or curious what the boxes on the wall were for (internal and external) but perhaps that’s just me .

My ONT was changed recently when I changed ISP. CityFibre did that although there is no branding on it, nor was there on the previous one.
I have always known how broadband and telephone lines have entered my various properties over the years.

What do you mean your ONT was changed when you changed ISP , presumably you mean CF changed out their own ONT , possibly because the replaced one was GPON and the new service needed a XGSPON one , or do you mean they illegally took out an Openreach ONT and replaced it with a City Fibre one ?
FWIW , I said many rather than every City Fibre ONT’s have the company name on them , it’s weird in a way that given pretty small organisations can get their name put on devices made for them , that CF hasn’t done this in every case .

I mean that CityFibre came and replaced my ONT.
Nothing to do with Openreach.
My original comment about labelling was in reference to the original poster seeming to indicate that they thought they might be able to identify the ISP from the ONT.
