TSB now part of Santander

But you do keep reading press reports and social media comments about TSB…
…when did you last read a press report or social media comment about Abbey?

That would make me close all my Santander accounts. The trauma from the failed TSB IT project is still very strong. Even if no, or only very small, IT system changes would be involved, I just cannot bear the thought of having my main accounts with TSB.

The combined LTSB/HBOS entity was required to get rid of a percentage of customers in England & Wales along with with either Bank of Scotland plc or LTSB Scotland plc.
They could have easily sold Bank of Scotland or Halifax customers but chose to drop the TSB brand by also adding some English/Welsh LTSB customers to LTSB Scotland plc to become TSB.
So they did essentially choose you to go rather than someone at Halifax.

My brother lives in a location with no Post Office, no banks, no shops, off the gas grid with no public transport and rudimentary FTTC Internet.
Some people make a life choice to live with poor infrastructure; others don't.

I'm guessing Enzo_L didn't choose to move to an area with no bank or building society branches.

For those who like to spectulate about the future of the TSB Brand. Published yesterday.

The bank has confirmed that there will be ‘no immediate changes’ to the TSB brand or customer accounts for ‘at least’ 12 months.

Do you think if Santander switch every TSB customer over to Santander they will pay £180 per switch as per their switching offer lol.

For those people who choose to live where there'e poor infrastructure, well good luck to them.
However, your reply to my posting is of no relevance at all to me. I live in the middle of a town of thirty thousand people.
Yes, you're right.
Since I've lived here all 7 of the town's post offices have closed. We had 2 Halifax agencies and agencies of 3 other building societies, all gone. There were 2 branches of Barclays - at either end of the town, a NatWest, and a TSB branch, all of which have closed
The two larger town a couple of miles to the north and south have also lost all their banks and building societies. One had a Barclays, NatWest, TSB, HSBC, RBS, and Halifax branches, plus 2 building society branches. The other has a Barclays, NatWest, TSB, Lloyds, RBS, CO-op Bank and Halifax branches, plus a handful of building society branches and agencies. All are gone, though they still have town centre sub-post offices.
As I said, you cut your coat according to your cloth.

The TSB branch in my town closed a few years ago and I don't know anyone who has missed it. I'm switching my unwanted, unloved and generally unused TSB account to Barclays for £200.
