Jersey anyone?

You mean the bit where you called them both MVNO's?
😉

"Out of interest, what network shows on your phone upon arrival in Jersey?"
I am currently in Jersey (St Helier), roaming with 1p Mobile, an EE virtual network. The local network we are currently affiliated to is “Sure”.
Outgoing calls to the UK work fine, not had any incoming calls. Mobile data works fine too.

‘Sure’ is what showed up on my phone, I still couldn’t make calls though. Bizarre, it must be me being a cheap skate using Lycamobile 😂

Apparently I am an idiot.
I apologise

Have roamed around the island over the past couple of days, I am finding mobile data on the Sure network mostly poor to very poor. No sign of 5G, some places only show 3G and at one location only “E”.
The data speed in the centre of St Helier is no more than 5 Mb/s up or down. Elsewhere it seems even slower, in some places with 2 or 3 bars of 4G, the data rate is so poor it’s virtually unusable.
I don’t recall the mobile data being particularly poor on previous visits where I think the phone showed JT (Jersey Telecom).
At the Pomme D’Or Hotel, the unlimited use (and free) WiFi runs 200 to 400 Mb/s up and down, so high speed data does exist on the island.
