@ionafan - I hope things settle and improve for your DH.
We are away for a long weekend so no flying at home but we are keeping our self catering accommodation tidy. Pizza alfresco at the beach this evening. DH had a beer and I had a small glass of pink wine. The evening sunshine was fabulous.

Morning all. Blackcats, that sounds like the perfect evening. We watched football.
Today will be busy, busier than originally planned. Taking cake and birthday present to son in law this morning, dailies and dog walk, then this afternoon helping to run a village event which has been brought forward to today at short notice due to the terrible weather forecast for tomorrow. However that does now leave all day Sunday and Monday just to spend with DH and Poppy.
Right, I'd better get in the shower.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.4 -
Morning all xx
I'm here. I've been reading along, but RL has been a bit too real and flying had to take a(n even further) back seat.
I think I know which way is up now. Pops is home - this time last week I was sat in A&E with him. He was eventually admitted, and discharged on Wednesday. I was in hospital for the day on Monday to have my biopsy. I managed to sort out my messed up prescription the next day. But I still can't find my car key. Throw in a betrayal of trust by DB and my aunt which was the straw that broke me, but I came back stronger. And the 💩 at work doesn't smell any sweeter. Nine more pay days 😉. (Oooops did I just 'threaten' retirement again? Like I told the Service Manager- it's not a threat, it's a fact! Turns out honesty isn't appreciated at a corporate level. And being told I have to respect someone simply because they're a higher pay grade than me doesn't work for me. Everyone is a higher pay grade than me, and some of them are complete ar$eholes. In my book respect is earned. Yes I'll be civil, polite and professional (ish) to everyone, irrespective of pay grade, but you can't make respect compulsory 🤪. Nine more months. And breathe)
New month. New beginnings. DS and DDil got the keys to the house they're buying yesterday. That's a good start.
I've made my bed, turned over the daily calendars, taken my meds, completed the nyt puzzles, supped two brews and eaten breakfast. (Monthly calendars are still on April - that's a job for today 😉)
Love to all. Special wave 👋 to YL, iona, Jazee, and Valli. Thank you for missing me.
I hope Mr ionafan is doing OK. Ditto any other poorly peeps.
I'm going to find a Saturdailies list and make a start. Oh, calendars first.

Wow, round - what a week/month you've had! I sincerely hope May is better for you.
My DH went back into A&E at midnight and now has yet another addition to his list of medical conditions. He is in the right place and they definitely won't discharge him early! Wonderful care from A&E staff.
I got home just as dawn was breaking (5.00 am, for those of you who didn't see it) and will be going back to the hospital shortly after just 3+1.5 hours' sleep. I promise I will drive carefully and will have a stiff coffee before I drive back.
I have messaged my family and talked to DSis-i-L. Also done WM/TDx4, and L the dog walker has helped me with the duvet covers. Rosie has had a good long walk. I am thankful.

To be honest, iona, the first quarter of 2026 has been fraught. Pops has been admitted to hospital every month - twice in Spain (Jan, then Feb), and then twice here (March, then April). I first found the lump in my neck just before Christmas and saw my GP in January as it hadn't disappeared. Still waiting to hear from Endocrinology after blood tests revealed that I have an overactive thyroid (symptoms are being masked by the medication I already take for anxiety), but ENT have been straight on with investigating the 'lump'. Pretty sure it's benign but want to be sure there are no cancer cells inside it.
The pharmacy have messed up my prescription most months since December. Some months they automatically swap the prescription for an available alternative; other months they swap it when I ask, then other months they can't possibly do that without the GP's say so. 🤦♀️ Last weekend I put myself on half a dose so that I didn't run out completely- not ideal when it's to calm my anxiety and I was going in for a more invasive biopsy on the Monday. (The less invasive procedure didn't collect enough cells.)
I lost my car key but didn't realise it was missing until I wanted it to drive to the hospital for the biopsy. Because of course extra stress was exactly what I needed that morning. 😱. Luckily I knew where the spare key was. The original is still missing despite comprehensive searches - I even tipped out the waste bins and dustbins!!!
And on top of that my dear DB and my aunt, who I'd confided in because even though they don't think it's cancer they can't rule it out yet, and who I'd expressly told NOT to tell Pops because he worries, told Pops what was going on while he was ill in hospital himself. Why? Why would you do that? I was so angry, hurt, betrayed, and cross with myself for thinking anyone family-wise would be in my corner. I now better know.
Anyhoo. Onwards and upwards.
I've WULTD and second load is swishing.
To Do Next:
Peg out first load
