Utterly useless phone even for free (and that is exactly why CPW are giving them away if you buy some airtime). Well it is fine for making and receiving calls but even trying to view you call log and find out about your missed calls which is a basic function is turned into a nightmare with this handset and its highly unintuitive interface. the handset has been selling (or NOT) for £10 online and at CPW for ages so wasn't particularly expensive all along but you should read the reviews. I am not saying that you should expect much from it but even at the very basic of functions, this phone is only useful as a paper weight (not a very heavy one so not particularly useful for that either).

total agree - I still find it frustrating now just typing about it!!!! I just could not work it out and its not like i'm old granny who have never texted... Ive got an SPV!!!! LOL

    Strange isn't it?
I find it to be of the best phones to use. Lasts forever chucked in the glovebox of the car in case of breakdowns and none of these 10 deep menus to fight your way through. A screen you can read in bright sunshine as well.

the price has now gone up.

also, just to reiterate my previous question, do you get a £10 airtime voucher separately or is it included in the sim? Someone just mentioned that £15 was credit on his sim.

Does that mean you dont actually get a voucher?

its important to me since I would like to use the voucher on my existing sim card, so I wont be very happy if they include the £10 credit in the new sim!
I'm not sure - I think they may credit it straight on to the sim at registration. If someone knows for sure please post! I'm sure that's how they did it when my wife had a Virgin PAYG. When you "buy" the phone, they give you a sepeprate sim pack as well. I haven't opened mine though as i plan to include it with another Virgin phone I'm selling (the old man won't need it as he's on the 300+300 deal).
The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.

  • When I got one yesterday the £10 was put straight on the phone. I just rang 789 and have £11 credit.

The credit goes onto the new sim card that you get with the phone.

Register it at www.virginmobile.co.uk get the £2 credit on by registering it and then send them an email (when logged into your account) and ask them to transfer the balance to your regular sim card (assuming you have another Virgin account).

They did it with mine but only transferred the £10 and left the £3 on the sim (£1 extra that was put on with the £10 and £2 for reg the sim).

    :)

Im not understanding what you have done here  , you took part of my post and seemed to ignore the fact that im extremely positive for the phone, certainly for my uses.

    Sorry you said

Agreed its not the best of phones - but its ideal for certain things.

I was just pointing out it wasn't designed for the typical UK buyer who wants camera, internet, and the latest ringtones. It's not supposed to be the best phone, just something cheap cheerful and functional in basic conditions.

For your sailing, it's probably ideal, I wasn't ignoring the rest of the comment, jsut saying your not the user group the phone was designed for, the fact you can get it just shows there is a market for a simple phone, something many phone co's could learn from.
