I bought on line through quidco and £5 is currently tracking.0

I spoke to a guy on the phone at Carphone Warehouse who said they were unlocked.
He then tried to make nme buy on the phone, but all I could think was 'Quidco...Quidco...', so I said "NO, I WILL BUY ONLINE". He then said "OOH, I'M NOT SURE IF IT WILL BE UNLOCKED IF YOU BUY ONLINE!". I thought, yeh nice try Mr Salesman, i'm sure it makes a difference!!
Just shows how desperate they are for commission, I wouldn't have thought they would get much for a free phone!!!

You need to understand who it's for.
It was not designed for us in the developed world, it was developed as a low cost, low feature phone for sale in deveping countries. It's deliberatly simple and low features, it makes the batter last longer. The screen is a eInk one that should be readable in much more conditions than the full colour screens we are used to in the UK.
Im not understanding what you have done here
, you took part of my post and seemed to ignore the fact that im extremely positive for the phone, certainly for my uses. 0 -
This has to be the WORST PHONE i have ever used - AVOID
I brought it for the old dear for christmas and i sent to straight back. It was so strange to use, really annoying.
I send it back to phones 4 u online via quidco_____________________________________________

Yep, this is a really BASIC phone but.......
Take in an old phone and charger and you will get it for nothing (you used to get £5 for the phone and £2.50 each for the charger and manual but you don't need to take in the manual anymore) so will then have a phone with £10 credit (they put £11 on mine for some reason), register it with Virginmobile.co.uk to get an extra £2 credit and then send it off to get Tesco clubcard points which will get you £12 in deals.
Suppose you could take it back to CPW and get another one with £10 credit on it.0 -
Thanks to OP picked one up this afternoon in exchange for a 5 year old Nokia that had been in the cupboard for many years. Great basic phone which is an ideal back up.Blitzkreig Bob says Hi to those checking his validity!0

Thanks too to the OP. I took along an old redundant, but working Nokia in its original box, with the manual & charger. It completely phased the salesperson at CPW actually giving away a pay-as-you-go phone for free. For some reason, when I dial 789, it tells me I have £15 credit and I haven't even registered it yet. Thanks for the tip about that sb440 -
 Went to Cardiff two branches today, they both had it for £9.95 instead of free with £10 top up (virgin), cheapest is £4.95 (orange) with £10 top up. So didn't trade in my old one after all.
Disappointed... 0 -
the price has now gone up.
my quidco has not tracked yet, its been over 24hrs now!!!
also, just to reiterate my previous question, do you get a £10 airtime voucher separately or is it included in the sim? Someone just mentioned that £15 was credit on his sim.
Does that mean you dont actually get a voucher?
its important to me since I would like to use the voucher on my existing sim card, so I wont be very happy if they include the £10 credit in the new sim!0 -
Utterly useless phone even for free (and that is exactly why CPW are giving them away if you buy some airtime). Well it is fine for making and receiving calls but even trying to view you call log and find out about your missed calls which is a basic function is turned into a nightmare with this handset and its highly unintuitive interface. the handset has been selling (or NOT) for £10 online and at CPW for ages so wasn't particularly expensive all along but you should read the reviews. I am not saying that you should expect much from it but even at the very basic of functions, this phone is only useful as a paper weight (not a very heavy one so not particularly useful for that either).Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0
