71 Year Old OAP Trying To Get My Money Back From Wren Kitchens

As said, the OP should simply arrange a fitter and have Wren deliver the kitchen units accordingly. Otherwise get Wren to do the full job with less hassle and less waiting.

To be fair a quick look online suggests a kitchen fitter should cost £20-40 an hour so £37.50 an hour (based on an 8 hour day) is at the top end. This is basically putting some flat pack furniture together, not sure if OP has said where they are in the country or how many days they've been quoted.
OP if you fail to perform your obligations under the contract (I assume not taking delivery counts as this) they can retain costs or loss of profit but not both, as others have said everything keeps going up in price so it might cost you more to buy again and then you still have to find a fitter.
Long thread so not sure who you've been talking to at Wren but if you really do want a refund regardless try the contact for Wren on the CEO email website, they might refund you to be done with it or figure something out. 🙂

fitting a kitchen is not basically putting some flat pack together… most if not all wren kitchens come pre assembled . There is often plumbing, tiling, electrics, flooring, carpentry involved
i still think the OP should organise a fitter and get the kitchen delivered3 -
That's why you have plumbers, tilers, electricians, builders and carpenters, if you hire a firm they'll have those on staff or on call to bring in.
If you hire someone willing to work for cash they'll either bring those trades in and expect you pay each directly or is a bit of a jack of all trades, that's not to suggest some can't finely tune all those skills but it also doesn't distract from the point that it's a relatively simple job and the price appears to be towards the top end.
Hey maybe the guy will do it in half the time of someone charging £200 a day, who knows.
If someone posted to say some guy is willing to work for cash should I hire them there'd be posters rushing to say how immoral it is…

if you hire a kitchen fitter he will either do the other jobs or he will bring someone in, it won’t be down to you to find anyone else.
£300 a day is about right
most/many kitchen fitters are carpenters, in fact if they aren’t I wouldn’t use them0 -
Ok, thanks people.
