Ironed stuff brought upstairs; mine put away. Bed stripped. Been to the Aged P's to pick up his washing to iron (I won't do it there as the ironing board is older than me and about as stable;)) but, while I was there I
naggedgently encouraged him to throw stuff out (OOD stuff).Collected my prescription while I was over that way.
Aged P's stuff now ironed and jumper gone over with lint remover. Mental note made to get his washer seal wiped.
Off to the theatre tonight.

Morning all.
I've just cleaned the washing machine seal after reading Valli's post! Wordle in five, all four lines on connections with one life lost, strands with no hints.
Plans for today - wash up, get dressed, dust bedroom, hoover through, walk Poppet, meet up with friends this afternoon.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Good afternoon
Done all the NYT puzzles I do. 3 lots of washing blowing in the breeze. cardboard boxes, being saved for DS and DiL moved to shed. Rabbits sorted, few weeds pulled up and binned (hairy bittercress), DW emptied and windows open for freshness. DR table cleared and wiped.

I will catch up with Fred as soon as I can, but this week has been wonderfully busy with birthday things. I wouldn't wish it any other way, but it means that I've neglected to thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday.
Today's Flying is an ongoing project. As I'm going to Italy I thought, 'Oh goodie. I can buy some sandals.' And then I thought I'd better check out what sandals I already have so I don't go buying duplicates. So I'm wearing each pair for 24 hours and working out whether I want to keep them or not, and those I'm keeping I'm making notes about, such as whether they're fit for wearing in the house (mostly carpeted) or outside on hard pavements, which I've already discovered means that my favourite blue pair are only good for indoors because they make the balls of my feet ache after walking to the Co-op and back. One pair has already made it into the CS bag because after an hour in the kitchen I could barely stand on my left foot. There's nothing wrong with the shoes at all, it's just that over the years I've broken a few bones in my feet and some shoes just aren't a good fit, despite appearing to be so initially. I've discovered that if I bring new shoes home and wear them around the house for a bit, and never outside, if they're not right for me most shoe shops will take them as returns. (I wouldn't abuse that system.)
I'm also catching up on paperwork again, and I've reduced the pile to two urgent jobs. Once they're done and I've done the filing I'm a bit less likely to miss deadlines. That's serious progress.
Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.6 -
hoovered throughout, bathroom and kitchen swished so they look respectable and some dusting in the lounge.
We are now away overnight for babysitting duties so other than the settling of sneaky dust particles the house should look spick and span when we get back. That means we can collapse in our chairs guilt free 😇

Ionafan I hope DD is making improvement and you aren't too stressed.
Funeral 1 went well although we were told at the wake that the new widower's Mum had passed on the morning of the funeral. Such a lot to cope with. We met him the following day for lunch and he was coping very well.
I had a lovely sea swim yesterday before visiting Mum, then a fairly slow drive home as we caught Friday M25 traffic. WM on as we were unpacking so that's all hung out, dried and brought in.
Lovely lake swim this morning and went to L1dl on the way home.
Spent most of the afternoon flying in the garden, we both concentrated on one area which is always rewarding as we get more done. Seeds are doing well.
Home made pizza in oven while I do some drumming practice. Plan is that we have a few things to do on the computer together after dinner if we don't get sidetracked by 2 Silent Witness programs….
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
It's tough getting rid of the past but it does free up space for the future.7 -
Evening,
Wow what a week at work, Friday afternoon was the worst. When you are trying to wind down and get everything sorted for a fresh start next week, does all the muck start flying in. I dealt with the urgent and emergency stuff and the rest will have to wait until I am in on Tuesday. As the only role holder, I don't have anyone else to share the workload so sometimes it can get a tad too stressful for my liking.
Still the sun was shining when I woke up this morning so I fed the birds and ate my breakfast looking out of the window watching them and the squirrels and reading online books. DH went to walk the dog so I took advantage of the time alone and had a soak in the bath. Once dressed I cleaned the bathroom and polished all the taps. The sink drain though frustrates me as the others in the house, despite reminders, do not wipe the top and we get a lovely limescale circle where the water is left to sit. Its the little things that drive me nuts sometimes.
DH and I then had a mooch into town, he is strict about wanting to get in his 10 thousand steps a day and had only done 4 with doogie. He realised when he did the longer walks she was struggling so often goes out again. I should be glad he is still so fit and active at only 2 years short of 80.
I treated myself to a pair of city style shorts and a new top just because I could (I don't help myself do I) and we got a few foody bits that were needed.
I hope your DH is ok ionafan, please take care of yourself too.
Gonna grab picky bits and fridge gravel for dinner shortly then I think I might try and figure out the software for the embroidery machine my aunty gifted (er sold to me for £1) me last year and I have only used once! I think she is coming to stay with my dad next week so I need to make an effort to at least try and understand it.
Might pop in tomorrow
ETA Change of plans for tomorrow. Dad rang me and is going to see his brother tomorrow who is undergoing treatment for the big C (and already has CF) so I have agreed to go with him. I'm not sure how he will be or how dad will take seeing him unwell so I said I would drive him. They are both in their 80's so I said to DH it will be quality time with my dad as well as we have an hour journey each way, and we will stop and have lunch in Ely (their home town on the way back). I have some questions I need to ask dad as he was talking about changing his will arrangements and I need to understand why before he goes ahead and does it, so it will be a good opportunity.
