Bathroom light
Does anyone have a bathroom light fitting like this?
Ours has dead insects in it but I can’t fathom how to get them out. I’ve tried to unscrew it and get my fingers inside the rim at ceiling to find any catches but can’t work it out.
Hope someone can help.

You should be able to twist the surround a little and then it will release.
A thankyou is payment enough .0 -
That’s what I thought & I'm sure I’ve done it before. However we had that en suite decorated last year so I guess it could be stuck with paint? I’ll ask my son to try to shift it.

What about a small vacuum with a blow function.
Just keep your mouth and eyes closed 😊
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

I'd try a bit of dental floss to unstick from the ceiling it if it might be stuck with paint

😂
I don’t have one but was thinking about trying a hairdryer.
Good shout.
I’ll try both & report back.0 -
I'd have thought it would split at the chrome collar, so presumably not stuck with paint?
Grab each side with as many flattened fingers as you can, and grunt as you rotate.

You’re right WIAWSNB. The grunt makes all the difference.

I would try gripping the chrome ring with 2 hands and twisting anti-clockwise.

Rubber gloves like marigolds can also help with the grip as well as protect your hands if it all goes pear-shaped,

On the left of the picture (at the 9 oclock position) , is that a wee lock switch?? If so move it to open before twisting??
Ours is a round globe (old fashioned but apparently still sold) so I always put down a soft dust sheet and cover the wc and basin with a towel in case it gets away from us.
