Computer Memory Issue

I don't think they (Amazon) are obliged to foot the extra cost. Amazon was the original retailer, and they apparently no longer stock the item. They are simply a platform for another seller who does have stock, but at a much higher price.

The original wait is not a problem, it was stated at the time of order.
They cannot replace the item as they do not have stock, so they have refunded you.

So I'm out of luck then?
Just sucks that I placed an order at a reasonable price from a reputable manufacturer, it took almost 5 months to get here, to not work.
Now my only option is to reorder the item for 6 times the price (it's not gone up in the last day or so to £1265) or waste £2k to not have a working computer

It has gone up*

I'd say so. There will be many victims of this insane AI led price spike.
Since I presume you had 2x32GB sticks, it would have been unlikely for both to be faulty so running with just one might have been the best course of action (I know that doesn't help now!)0 -
I think so, yes. In other circumstances you may have benefitted. Anyone buying such a product now and finding it doesn't work would be able to return it for a refund and possibly buy it cheaper next week. It's the same with any product that is susceptible to rapid price variations.
