Computer Memory Issue

Hi all,

Currently feeling the brunt of the global RAM crisis.

I purchased 64GB Corsair RAM through Amazon, in November 2025. I was not aware of the crisis when I purchased it, so I was surprised to see a delivery date of 2-3 months. I assumed this was an error, or a temporary problem, so I persevered and bought it anyway, for around £210 with my debit card.

After the purchase the stated delivery date was between February and May. Once I read up on the crisis, I didn't expect to see it, but I didn't cancel the order just on case.

Fast forward to last Thursday (26th March) and it turned up. Miracle! Except it didn't work. I spent the weekend diagnosing to make sure, and the RAM was faulty.

I got in touch with Amazon and they said they can't offer a replacement for this item, only a refund. Not acceptable, as the price had risen from £210 to £902 for the same item, through no fault of my own.

I asked what they were going to do about it, to be transferred to a manager. The manager promised that if I return the item, I'll get a refund. Then I can repurchase the same item, and be refunded the difference. They even cited the £902 price. So I sent it back via Asda (they do pickup point for Amazon returns)

Now I've come to reorder the item, and it isn't in stock with the original seller. But I can order the exact same item through another seller. This was the seller charging £902, so I presumed this wouldn't be an issue, but I called to double check before I spent my money.

Now I am being told that because it isn't the original seller, they won't refund me the difference if I spend my money. All I want is for them to honour the purchase for the original amount. A replacement product would be enough
