NOWTV 14 day cooling off period- when is it valid?

To add to the above, I got Virgin last year but realised within 24 hours it was garbage and I invoked the same rights you did, had to pay for a full month but didnt mind that. So bemused the same does not apply here.

It doesn't apply here because it's not the same company (mostly), although the services are different to a degree.
The OP is cherry picking clauses and ignoring the ones that say "no, you can't get out of a 12 month contract early". They've presumably signed up to a 12 month contract due to it being cheaper than day passes and is now suffering from buyers remorse.
By the by, I asked AI whether it was possible to get the future payments cancelled and it told me that it wasn't. I don't know why people quote AI as being anything other than a coin toss. All you have to do is carefully construct your question and it will tell you anything you want it to.

I signed up to a 12 month contract with Virgin too (may have even been 24 months!), and successfully binned it off within 24 hours invoking the same rights. Why does the same not apply here? Genuine question. I am aware its a different company but surely they are both subject to the same consumer rights legislation/guidance.

Presumably Virgin go above the consumer rights standards or as a good will gesture and Now TV follow it ?
I believe as others have stated the guidance is that you would only be entitled to the 14 day cooling off period having signed up if the service has not yet been made available to you and you have not started using it.
The OP was probably given a choice of whether to pay for a day, a month or 12 months and opted for the latter becasue it was the cheapest (per month).

Do you mean because you had the right to do so, or because Virgin just happens to be more flexible?

I have no idea. I told the person on the phone I was invoking my rights to cool off within 14 days and there was absolutely no argument and this was done, and I paid for the full month. And I had used the TV services (and found out how atrocious the streaming box was)

Because it will be in Virgin Medias T&C's, NowTVs are the only ones that matter here and theirs say "No" I'm afraid. There may be other reasons for the differences with VM and I think a Sky TV sub though.
I've worked for similar services in the past such as Box Nation, Racing TV, BT Sports/TNT plus video streaming services etc and they've all had the same T&Cs as NowTV (some obviously were one off events but others were subscriptions). Believe me, they had the T&Cs down tight despite all the ranting and threats we had to endure from unhappy cutomers.

I thought the 14 day thing was a statutory thing tbh.

It is, but the statute says you're deemed to have waived it once you start using the services.

We could find the live channels but not awake at 4am to watch them or coming up will have other commitments while the races are on. We were used to on demand being instant and no where did we see at the time it said it could take 48 hours to appear. At this point not only are the results everywhere but you are back at work and people talking about it. Therefore we realised the service was not right for us and within 14 days tried to cancel but despite it being UK law that we have that right, NOWtv don't seem to adhere. Research showed that unless they specifically mention the 14 days is invalid they are valid. I cannot see anywhere it says they are invalid in specific wording.
