Converting garage to make space for pool table

yeh a large shed is a non starter for me…
Extending the garage just seems to costly at the moment
an outside table, free standing, is a really good option and one I’m giving thought to

Do you actually need doors i.e. room to swing your cue down to floor level, or could you put in a window that juts out?

yes this could work…. I can’t picture how this might look… but you just mean a window in the side of the garage?

I think Sapindus is thinking of something like an oriel window (not recommending this site btw, just using it to illustrate what I mean). If you only need to gain maybe 600 mm or so then I could see this working well. You wouldn't be restricted to playing in good weather, and you could add a window seat to make more use of the space too.
I don't know about pricing. You don't see too many of these so they may not be cheap. OTOH they don't need moving parts like a door so maybe they're less pricy than I'm imagining.1 -
This is an excellent idea!!!
thanks @Sapindus for suggesting and @casper_gutman for clarifying…
I agree may not be cheap but I’d expect it to be cheaper than other garage conversion options. Will give this some serious thought!

You need to work out exactly how much space you need around the table to be able to use your preferred cue length and allowing for cueing action. That will help you work out how much wider the garage needs to be, and whether it would be feasible to have some kind of bay window. There's a limit to what would look Ok in terms of depth and width, and if the projection is not all the way down to the floor then the useful maximum depth would also depend on your cueing stance. The limiting factor is probably where your back foot needs to be on the ground, not how far back your cue hand goes.

yep some great points there… I’ll need to measure out properly.

Here is a guide to the amount of space needed.... What room size do I need for my pool table? | Liberty Games
I want a 7' table, with longest length cue...
Pool Table Room Size Guide (Metric)Table Spec
Table Size
Playfield
57" Cue
British 7'
213cm x 121cm
183cm x 91cm
473cm x 381cm
So, this is the space needed 473cm x 381cm
Measurements for my garage are:Full Length = 607cm
Full Width = 342cm
Width with Piers/Stanchions = 320cm
Here are some photos, excuse the mess, and it is worth mentioning, IF i did do this, there would be space elsewhere for most of the MANY items currently stored there!0
