After trawling around internet based reviews, the Cabin Max Metz 24L appears to tick the box. Just under £30 from various suppliers, so a decent affordable price.

I need something to carry key life support kit such as iPhone, mini iPad, kindle and music travel speaker for holidays - plus clothes to wear / remove before boarding/exiting the aircraft - then the additional duty free gin !!!

Always makes a good watch at the gate when passengers argue that their visabily over stuffed and bulging wheelie bag is okay as the size dimensions when purchased are compatible with the RyanAir published size.

Not sure about Ryanair but EasyJet allow a bag of duty free in addiiton to your cabin bag …

Isn't Duty Free always sold in a tamper proof bag supplied at the checkout for all airline travel - not to be opened until reaching arrival point ?

I simply place that in carry on hand luggage rather than cart around two separate bags.

Maybe at some airports, but I wouldn't say it was the norm - I didn't get a bag at all last time.

That's unusual - my understanding is that duty free has to be transported unopened outwith the UK for legal reasons - that's why sealed bags are the norm.

Also problems with passengers having access to duty free alcohol on aircraft is a factor.

Don't know, I've never bought duty free on the way out of the UK! I was talking about a return journey.

The WDF airside shops are a good deal from our perspective - we enjoy a G&T (Tanqueray) on the hotel balcony late afternoon/early evening - purchased in the UK and carried in hand luggage works for me.

There is a 10% discount on already attractive prices if ordered online in advance - and payment only taken on collection.

A decent bit cheaper than airline onboard prices.

How does that duty free price compare with the price in the local store near the hotel?

I have never found duty free prices really worth all the bother - sometimes actually more expensive than the High Street.

Dearer in local Spanish supermarkets in my experience.

Cheaper in the Canaries.

I've selected WDF Heathrow (for example) if you wish to browse and check prices. I assume these will be the same across the UK - although possible variation in Scotland ? Not sure if/how our minimum unit pricing impacts on duty free.
