I have a Dell PC( 1or 2 years old) and a Samsung printer/scanner (10 years old). They worked perfectly until not long ago.I tried to solved the problem, which was the printer works, the computer works but the printer would not answer command although the green line that shows fulfilment showed every time. So I uninstalled everything and that's where I am at, I've tried to solved the problem but I find myself not knowing what I have to download for the scanner to work.

I will have to install the whole thing… Can anyone help me to solve this, PLEASE?

I am willing to pay but not £150 as I have been asked by the robbers on the main road.

Need specifics for any IT support. Model numbers of devices and operating system of the PC are a bare minimum for a printer related issue.

Your operating system could be Linux, Win 10, Win 11. Printer might not be supported on the OS your using. You might have to get 3rd party or compatible drivers for a printer that old, but need the model number to investigate further.

Samsung sold their Printer division to HP back in 2016 and as of 2017 driver support is probably incredibly patchy for what is effectively an obsolete product on a modern operating system.

That being said, what is your Dell model number and your printer model?

If you don't need the scanner function, a Brother mono laser printer is £85 on Amazon.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

PC: OptiPlex Micro Form Factor 7020 Windows 11

    Printer: Samsung xpress M2070W

I've had them working fine until a few days ago when the printer(that still prints as I have trialed it) would send the signal to the computer that the printer was finalised by showing the green bar but no page would move from the tray. BTW I recently changed to ink, so that's new.

HP has the rights and if I want to use the scanner I have to download the drivers, when I go to HP for the drivers there are about 5 pages with downloads and TO ME they are all good and dandy so I cannot decide which one to choose because they all are important in the same manner.

In any case THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE ANSWER.

I thought I was going to wait way longer!

Maria this link is from MSE forum and that user got their device working.

Looks like they need the scanner function although that said I suffered with a Epson Stylus SX235W inkjet for years. So frustrating that you don't need it for ages and when you do it decides it doesn't like either the WiFi or the inks or the time of day, and I'd spend an hour or more trying to sort it.

I swapped it for an HP LaserJet M209dw mono laser printer (from Amazon) for £90 and use my phone if I need anything 'scanned' in. Much, much easier.

Thanks for the reply but my query is about which download is it that I need to use? There are about 5 pages of download, I need my scanner and scanner and printer are both in good condition. Not looking for a new one.

I gave you a link from MSE that a user had a problem for and is the same model as yours and they got it working by using the diagnostic utility from Samsung/hp.

    I never mentioned getting a new scanner/printer.
