Random 'Started by' thread date problem makes threads appear permanently new
Problem - threads end up stuck near the top of page 1 of a forum because the 'started by' date always appears as today instead of the date it was actually created (although the time is correct) and the act of opening the post isn't recognised, so it permanently appears in bold (so looks to be permanently new/unread).
Here's an example from the ISA & tax-free savings sub-forum :
The current third post down ("Transfer recently from Shawbrook…") shows as having been created today at 10.54am…
…but it was created (and last edited) on the 18th March (2 days ago). The time is correct, though.
I've opened that thread a few time (plus shut and down and re-opened the forum) but it remains in bold with the 'New' tag in place.
I'm curious to know if anyone else seeing this ? Happens randomly to the occasional post and not just in that forum.

Hi
I believe this is a known issue with the auto-bumping features.
A post that hasn't received a reply will be automatically bumped. Unfortunately, the way the forum currently does it creates some date and unread discrepancies.
This is in the backlog of issues our forum provider have acknowledged will be fixed.

One solution is to give the post a polite reply along the lines of "I can't help you but hopefully someone will be along who can". Then it has a reply and it isn't bumped again :)
