I will buy a room temp guage today, what i dont get is current temp on the control panel (im assuming thats room temp?) is shown as 22.2 deg last night when the heater had cooled right down. Yesterday morning & this morning its still showing as about 22.4 when the heater is hot and its obvious that the temp in the room is way above that?

At the risk of repeating myself

That sound rather like a faulty control unit.

I'd assume the display is showing the target room temperature not the actual room temperature at that moment. Just like a primitive rotary knob bimetallic strip CH thermostat on the wall with gas CH.

Imagine you've come home on a cold day, you turn on the boiler manually and turn the wall thermostat to 30°C. Doesn't mean your freezing room is instantly at 30°C; if the system is under dimensioned and there's a Beast from the East it may never reach it.

on the Quantums the display shows the desired room temperature - it’s not like a GCH digital thermostat which shows the actual room temperature at the time - the heater the OP has may well be the same, I’d expect as much but quite honestly from what we’ e now heard about the brand, all bets are off really!

If we have gained nothing else from this thread, I think we do at least know for the future that if someone else turns up here asking for advice on these heaters they should probably be steered to something better!

Let's wait and see the outcome before we start poopooing the brand

As above it looks at least in the thermostat side a pretty clever piece of kit.

I still dont like p9 3C room lift.

But I can understand a sensor next to a high heat could read off from rest of room - iirc Dimplex cores get to around 100C - far hotter than a wet radiator.

Its a shame there aren't any ecostrad magma hhr users here.

I wonder if its worth an email to tech support at manufacturers rather then seller if doesnt settle down in next few days.

Like the Dimplex, their might be diagnostics pages to help them diagnose behaviour even if not faulty and to spot a problem if is faulty.

Could well be QrizB i will get a better idea when my room temp guage arrives and i can then quote more accurate figures.

With the weather changing to warmer temps its not been the best time to use it but i want try it out & check its working properly, been told to get some heat into the bricks b4 i can then see the benefits of how it works properly.

Certainly not seeing anything at the moment🤔

One other thing to check, are you using any other heater in that room at the moment?

If there's a secondary heat source running that will really confuse the storage heater and would cause it not to take a charge

Officially in a clique of idiots

No other heater in room, only another one in my hall but its still the old creda 3.4kw model & works ok. Heaters confused, im confused 😊 Meanwhile we are having a mini heatwave and im sweltering especially in the morning. Room temp showing about 22/ 23 deg, and it looks like its only about .5 /1 deg different from the room temp guage i bought
