I used Hardgreaves Lansdown. Might be too basic for sum but I like how they do things, lets me get on with my life without much input.

Yes, I appreciate your initial question is looking for something specific, but was commenting more on your later point that you were "not invested in the S&P 500 index funds and people have said it is a good fund to invest in, so thought I should have a look into it".

my investment stragety is a bit strange and i don't want to discuss it here. i am looking for more funds to invest in as i am an oppotunist so the more funds available for me to speculate on the better.

But the funds you are choosing are index trackers and they overlap what you already hold. They are not really aimed at people wanting to go off the path.

not invested in the S&P 500 index funds and people have said it is a good fund to invest in, so thought I should have a look into it, but there are so many funds out there, wanted to see if anyone had ones they have invested in themselves and can recommend for me to look into further. to narrow down my research.

    a) Yes, you are invested in the S&P 500. You have the index world fund that includes that.

    b) US equity was the place to be between 2012 and 2024 (largely on recovery from 2000 to 2011 when it was one of the worst areas to be). Since the end of 2024, US equity has been one of the worst areas. Historically, global vs US have cycled. Whether this is a blip or the next change in the cycle is unclear, but as you intend to significantly increase your US weighting on top of what you already have, then it would suggest that you believe that the cycle hasn't rotated and it's a blip.

Or alternatively, you don't know what you are doing and picking investments at random without understanding what you have and what you should have.

i am not looking for advice. i am looking to hear from anyone who has invested in S&P 500 ETF and can state the name of the fund that they invest in so I can look into it further.

I don't think many here will be interested in helping you make mistakes.

Holding multiple funds doesn't provide diversification if you overlap what you already hold.

There are too many red flags to comment more meaningfully than this, but I would be very cautious of whomever or whatever led you down this path.

thanks, at last someone who actually answer a question that has been asked!

will look into that as I am familiar with Vanguard so would be happy to invest in them.

Due to a couple of comments you made earlier in the thread, a number of regular posters fear that your understanding of what you are wanting to invest in and the reasons why is lacking a little. They may be wrong and you know exactly what you are doing and just need the specific answer. Alternatively you might be a little defensive as for someone to admit to themselves that they don't know all the elements can be difficult. I see it a lot of both on this forum. This is a forum that can provide a wealth of opinions and information. No judgement here

It's not entirely clear what is meant by "distributing ETF in sterling". Are you expecting distributions in sterling?
