Can I send off for a free toner if I purchase this printer online? I do not have a car and it could be a nightmare bringing the printer back on public transport.

I'm just thinking that you don't usually get a standard receipt when you buy online...do you?
They (PCW?) should send an invoice which should be accepted, phone Canon to see what they will accept and PCW to demand a relevant receipt before buying.

You are hardly comparing like with like as the 5000 is a COLOUR laser, and the free cartridge is worth a whopping £250. What you do when the second cartridge runs out is ......................anyones' guess, refills may be dodgy if it is a singe cased toner.
    Agreed
My comment was on the quoted price:

Bought a Canon LBP2900i online last Sunday. Just received my receipt from PC World today, attatched to an email, Uh Oh! , which I wouldn't be too happy about printing and sending for fear of rejection.

Have emailed them explaining the situation and asked them for an original receipt. Lets see what happens. If I don't get a real receipt the printer will be going back.

I'll also try phoning canon tomorrow, to see what they say.
  • Let us know how you get on speaking to Canon, moredough.

  • I didn't get round to speaking to Canon today, I couldn't find a number for this promo.

I hadn't received a reply to my email from PC world so I phoned them. The bloke I spoke to said he will post me a hard copy out which I should receive next week.

I hope this happens as I've just received an email from them saying

'I would like to inform you that a printout of our electronic receipt should be suitable for any offer purposes as this is our official purchase receipt. '

It's the 'SHOULD' that I'm not too happy about.

I'll let you know if I receive one next week.

    Just to let you know.

I received a receipt in the post from PCW yesterday.

It's already in the post again on it's way to canon

Looked at this as a replacement for my Samsung. Unfortunately it appears there are no Apple Mac drivers available, so be careful if you're not windows based. Glad I checked.

  • Has anybody else received their free cartridge yet? I sent off ages ago and haven't had anything!

Mine took between 3 and 4 weeks to arrive.

I would give them a call to see what has happened, if it is over 28 days.

  • Is there a particular number I could ring?
