Found a great cheap fuel finder site

I know there are lots of these sites but I have been using this to find the best prices. https://cheapfuelnear.me I believe this uses official Government price data as petrol stations in the UK have to publish there prices now.

Doesn't appear to be working at the moment, I get Error Failed to search stations: 502.

Seems to work if you " Use My Location" rather than your postcode.

Includes Costco, which I seem to remember other comparison sites often omit.

Petrolprices app is quite accurate, but it relies on users providing data.

First one on that site (near me) shows 13p cheaper than it currently is (the others, I think, are correct). I'll keep using the PetrolPrices app.

Well I still can't get it to work with postcode or My Location using Firefox and Edge. I doubt if I'll be trying again.

They rely on user input and don't always update if they change during the day. I was at one on Saturday that was 143.9 for Diesel (updated that day by the petrol station) but 144.9 when I got there.

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I’ve been using it for years.

Users can update data but they also use their own data and Fuel Finder. It also includes Costco and every other petrol station in the UK.

That site is utterly useless, as a quick search for my home postcode shows.

There is a filling station at the end of my lane. It does not come up in the results. It's a big-brand one, and shown on that brand's own website.

There are three within 10km. It only shows one of them. One of the missing ones is the same chain as the one shown.

There is a fourth within 15km. That's not shown either.

Go out to 30km, and there are quite a few more in the nearest big towns, including at least two of the big supermarket chains. It STILL only shows that one.

AIUI, https://www.fuel-finder.uk shows all filling stations that follow the legal requirement to register their prices with the government, within half an hour of updating them. That requirement came into force at the start of Feb. (Two of my nearest four are missing.)
