Ah so it typically reaches court, but then is often discontiuned? From the newbies thread:
- Will you have to attend a hearing? Rarely! Usually, the PPC discontinues; very common with DCB Legal! Will that hearing be at Northampton? NO! That's just a central starting point for claims. If you are an individual, you get the choose your local court. You do NOT want your case 'heard on the papers'. You want a hearing because that tends to see most cases discontinued.
- You can claim your costs if you win, the hearing might never happen and you risk nothing
(no CCJ, no huge costs)by defending. If you end up among the handful who report a loss here you'd have 30 days to pay ...andthe total is less than on the claim form (£185 - £212 total for a single PCN).

Ah ok! So it will reach court but hopefully be discontinued before a hearing? I am going off what I read on the newbies thread.

Yep, now you seem to have understood the 2nd half of the game, at a different venue, which most people with claims seem to fail to understand the multiple stage process, but in simple terms
Civil courts deal with court claims ( and the CNBC is a paperwork central processing centre, not a court. )
Your case will be transferred to the civil court that you chose, no surprises there, then the end game starts, usually with a discontinuance before the court hearing fee deadline needs to be paid by the claimant or their lawyers
There are nearly 900 examples in the discontinuations thread by Umkomaas

Yes it will 'reach court' but not reach a hearing! We need your discontinuance please!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
