Sky Broadband Cancellation
I thought I wouldn't be charged a cancellation fee if I cancelled because of their annual price rise. I still have time to serve with them so not yet finished my term. I received a letter telling me I should contact them within 30 days of recieving their letter which I have done

You can only cancel if the price rise is above the contractual rise, in which case they tell you specifically you can cancel for that reason, you cannot cancel and leave without paying for the full term if it is the standard contractual price rise.
You can either pay the amount, not leave them, or they will likely take debt recovery action.

Sky Broadband operate variable pricing, customers free to switch elsewhere without penalty charge within 30 days of being notified of a price increase.

If I'm reading this correctly, MattMattMattUK says I cannot leave without penalty and bristolleedsfan says I can leave without penalty. I am broadband and home phone customer only and they are intending to penalize me . Confused, I am?

bristolleedsfan is saying that Sky don't have contracted in BB price rises which is correct as far as I'm aware. That means that you should get an email detailing the rises and the fact that you can leave (giving them notice of such) within 30 days.
Have you has an email about the rises?

Yes, I have. NOW full fibre 100 - they want to charge me £31.50 because I'm still within the minimum term. Email dated 19th Feb

So I should go back to them and tell them not to charge then.

£31.50? Is that not perhaps your final payment for the 30 days notice? Have you asked to actually cancel it outright or initiated a switch to another provider?

Well, their letter calls it an early termination charge although I did do the switch part so the date of switchover worked correctly
