ZZPS and GCTT are just known money scammers and worst of all they are approved to scam by the BPA and IPC

Both ZZPS and GCTT send out total rubbish letters which mislead people …. the letter above from GCTT proves that

"WARNING NOTICE OF TRANSFER TO SOLICITORS"

WHAT UTTER CRAP and giving the raader a scare. In reality, it is NOT their debt and therefore they have NO POWER to do anything.

We do not know how many people have been conned into paying the fake add-on included and in my mind should be treated like the car finance scam by the FCA and even the CMA. I wonder how many millions have paid the fake add-on

Thank you all for those clarifications and I hope more people come to this forum and educate themselves on those matters. I was wondering if I should post the letters, or anymore updates, as I thought it would just spam you, but I'm glad that I did as it raises awareness. Hopefully more people will come to ask for assistance, find your guidelines and templates and won't feed those scammers.

Is there anything we can do as consumers to cause for the appropriate authorities to treat this scam like the car finance scam, as @patient_dream said? I would love it for those rip off companies to be brought to justice and made to pay millions of people compensation for scamming them!

You're a bit late to the party but not too late.

There was a Public Consultation last Autumn because - 7 years after the Parking (Code of Practice) Act was enacted - the Government is about to regulate the industry.

But …hmmm… that won't be a good thing if the MHCLG ignore the four thousand voices and MPs across all parties who have called for proportionate charges and a ban on the double recovery fake 'fee' extortion.

The MHCLG's so-called Options Assessment was appalling, useless, worthless, tone deaf and plain naive and more than suggested this Government are running scared of another Judicial Review. It bleated that they wanted to kick the can down the road and get any old Code in.

In my view, if the MHCLG don't ban DRFs when they re-launch the statutory Code this Autumn, then our job will be to get our MPs to BLOCK THE CODE, BY OBJECTING.

I am not joking.

If this Government fails us on this, let's make them run scared of the motorists side.

We MUST block it, if the fake fees aren't banned and called out as extortion like the Tories did.

The double recovery has to stop. If anything, there's an argument for mass reclaims.

@MothballsWallet my understanding, from everything that I read so far and the explanations that everyone has kindly provided so far on this thread, is that what those companies are doing is nothing but a scam and I should ignore them. Also those letters are written intentionally using misleading and threatening language, for them to scare people into paying ballooned charges.

If this is not the case and you believe I'm wrong in calling those letters harassment, could you please let me know?

You might feel harassed by them but in the game of debt collection the bar is much higher than this. There is nothing illegal in what they are doing, and you will be much better putting your energy into the basic issue rather than the definition of "harassment". 😉

@James_Poisson Sure, I was just interested in their point of view 🙂 I personally see those letters and the ones from TV licence as harassment. I don't appreciate being threatened countless times and I definitely am against what those companies are doing. If I'm in the wrong, take the appropriate legal actions, don't threaten me every other week…

Anyway, I'm just debating, be sure I'm not putting any energy into it, just waiting it out. I've made my choice already so will have to deal with the consequences if they take me to court and end up winning.
