Sky Broadband March increase

Hi. Can I just check that its still the case with Sky that once they formally notify me by email of their upcoming price increases that I have 31 days in which to notify them if I intend to get a better deal and not receive any early termination charges for doing so? Apologies can I also verify if its still the case that this applies to broadband only.

  • Just give them a ring on 0333 7592 540 or 0344 241 0333 and ask about your specific account. While you're at it, tell them you want a better deal because you're thinking of leaving after the price rise. You never know, in your case they may be able to offer you a discount to retain your business.

I did just this because I was unsure too. They said I would not be charged an exit fee, but could not give me a better deal. I'm looking at switching now.

If you look at your online account you will see that the "future" bills will include the £3 a month increase from April.

I phoned 0330 041 3000 and asked to cancel. They came out with the usual lies (these calls are recorded so how come they don't pick up on the lies the advisers say?). Apparently, Offcom have told ALL suppliers that they must increase the broadband by £3 a month from April. When I mentioned that there are companies that don't increase such as Zen internet she told me I must be mistaken.

Anyway, it's cancelled and is going on 5th March and she confirmed there would be no early termination charges. No offers at all to stay, doesn't bother me though, if I say I am leaving then I leave.

Thanks to people like Martin Lewis who campaigned against the percentage increase each year, the people on the lowest packages are affected much worse percentage wise than people on higher packages.

Thanks Martin, maybe think in future before opening your mouth and making it worse for the poorest people.

I've now got to find a new supplier, and at the moment the winning people are Three 5G with their £19 a month (effective cost) offer.

I just did the same as above; contacted Sky to check beforhand , even made sure I saved the chat log where the advisor said no termination fee, low and behold, just received a termination fee email.. £47 leaving fee.

Yes, just got mine. If you're on satellite (Q or HD TV) then this now applies to that portion also. Not Stream or Glass though due to the delivery system.

  • I’ve just received email with termination fee as well 🤣 no chance of them getting it
