No sucess with haggling with the AA for car breakdown cover. It was 60% cheaper taking out a new breakdown policy for £40.

Didn't need to haggle with my home insurance this year as my renewal quote was nearly £80 cheaper than the cheapest quote on all comparison or independant sites. With the top cashback / voucher option available, I would have still paid £42 more using a comparison site.

We had the same with breakdown cover. To add our new car it was going to be £80 ish. For my partner to get the same cover under her own name, it was £42. Breakdown cover used to be a set price, and if you called them out too mnay times, they'd cancel your cover. Fair enough. But it's such a shame now that they are going the way of ISP and car insurance, where they try to rinse you for a randomly high amount and hope you don't notice
