Company offering prize and not awarding it after saying i'm a winner.

Well, is it even a "company" that exists? Or just the name of a Facebook page?

It is a company that exists and is listed with Companies House

What sort of state are its finances in, from what you can see there (or on its website)? Any directors with numerous other companies, short histories, etc?
Google the name plus terms such as 'scam', search for reviews, past mentions on here, etc, etc….

How old is this company?
A friend years ago 'won' a discount on a conservatory when the first place person allegedly lived in a 4th floor flat. It all sounded like a shonky sales tactic to me. But then I think my friend was a bit gullible, she later tried approaching me with one of those MLM schemes where there was a video with a lot of happy couples raving about all the money they were making, but they wouldn't reveal to me what the actual product was. Probably Amway)

They are listed on Companies House, trading as this company with another company level above them if that makes sense.
I just don't like that companies like this can put together give aways and then not stick to it, there must be something that can be done, otherwise it'll just carry on.

Well one thing that can be done is to publicise what they're doing (or not doing) but if people clam up and refuse to share the company name, that doesn't help!

Thank you, I do understand that, but feel like maybe I just need the advice at the moment on things I can do to tackle this in a general sense.
If I have it in writing, then do I have any legal grounds or do I just need to give up and walk away.

Sounds odd to me. Winners announced on Christmas Day, and they only told you you were a winner after you got in touch with them on social media? Sounds a bit "timeshare" to me.
I certainly wouldn't want an outfit from social media who are acting like this anywhere near my roof or heating system. There are enough cowboy installers out there already happy to install this stuff for a profit. I don't imagine this outfit is going to be motivated to do a great job when they're doing it for a loss. And what sort of after-install service are they going to be providing?
The whole thing sounds very suspicious.

The trouble is, do you really want to force a company to work on your house?

It's impossible to say without sight of the terms, but even if there was a legal case to be made, enforcing a payout would be an entirely different story!
