    *** Board Guide Notice***
    Good morning everyone :)

Queenie hasn't been about for the last few days and so didn't post the February Challenge.

I've copied her original post into this new thread to give you a start.

    Good luck :)

This has become such a part of my routine now. This month I'm off to a really good start with £130 'saved' from not having Council Tax Direct Debited from my current account. Also 'saved' £1.48 in Sainsbury's and Boots today. The post also brought me £20 in John Lewis vouchers courtesy of doing surveys on Valued Opinions. I can feel a shopping trip coming on!

I would like to be in aswell this month now I've successfully completed the GC and stuck at it:D . I've made a very good start so far with reduced yellow stickered items from Mr T last night, 20% off the price of the replacement valve that's gone on the shower [but in true MSE style have been collecting the leaking water so can use it flush the loo!] and a 10% refund from Amazon as the batteries they sent with the digital camera were flat.
Will try to be a good old styler and keep a PMS update in my sig.

A head's up for those who pay their Council Tax and any other annual bills over 10mths - your February and March payments will make a lovely bonus for your PMS fund

I have just had a major panic as i forgot to pay the council tax last month (we do it over 10 months), paid it online, then realised that we were already paid up for last year! im so gutted as we are really broke at the minute too so the extra money would have come in handy!, still at least it will come off this years!!

I have actually been doing the challenge since last August but haven't posted as I have been too busy with the GC thread! Between August and the end of last month I saved £160 following PMC principles, and so far this month I have saved £15.

Mainly, I've done it by being very strict and putting the money saved from bargains in cash in a special purse which I have then paid into my ISA at the end of the month. For example, I bought a raincoat in the sales for £10 reduced from £35 and put the £25 difference in my PMS purse. I also 'pay' myself to go swimming each week - we have a pool at work which I have to pay to use but it works out £2-50 a week cheaper than the local sports' centre so I put this in the purse each time I swim as it encourages me to do the exercise!

I am aiming to pay as much as possible into my ISA for my retirement! Plus I enjoy finding new ways to save money!

What'shappened to the March challenge? I am not doing so well as I have been staying out of the shops and so have had fewer bogofs and bargains. Also have had to miss swimming because of other commitments so not paid myself the usual £2-50.

However I did buy a pair of shoes on line which were 20% off and free postage so I have put £14 into my PMS pot ( actually I put in an IOU- I will transfer the money to my ISA at the end of the month).

Am feeling a bit lonely here -so if anyone else is out there or can tell me if I am posting in the wrong place let me know!

  • Although I haven't posted for a while I'm still doing the challenge. Managed just over £31 last month and hoping for something similar this month. My savings have been mainly on using coupons in Asda and bogofs and buy 2 price reductions but it's all saving.

I have decided to join this challenge - now that I'm living on my own, I think it is the only way I will be able to 'Save'. I think the first thing I am saving up for is an all in one printer. All my pin money is being transferred straight from my bank account into my savings account. I am also including Ebay sales, cashback, surveys etc in this money.

Saved so far: £3 - was actually £2.74 on shopping, but rounded it up

    Hi,
I was looking for this challenge but it looks like its not happening??

    Is anyone still doing it?
  • Hi, yes quietly plodding along here. I put my savings into my ISA each month. I don't always post as I can't always find the thread. But I am doing ok this month: £30 cashback for changing gas/electric supplier and bought a Ewbank carpet sweeper from Argos using Nectar points so saved £20. Not many money off coupons this month or bogogs.
