CRANKY - good for you :D I wouldn't be without my BM or SC.
Yes, I can fully appreciate how wonderful it is to watch those little savings build up. I made large investment purchase last year and it gobbled up almost all of my savings and I really did feel very deflated! Lurved the purchase, just not the dent in my savings! Well, I am so proud because I've almost got them back up to where I was before :j :j Of course, getting a healthy interest rate each month makes all the difference - I get paid for nothing more than simply having the money *there* ;):D

It's a great feeling to have a financial "security blanket" and knowing that I've achieved it by feeding my family healthier, cost effective meals and doing things that help us, our pockets and the environment! I still have much to learn - but I'm getting there too :D:D:D

scuzz, that's a great rundown on how you succeeded in such a fabulous total in PMS; did you know, you can now "spend" those nectar points in Debenhams too :D

I don't spend them in Debs, just collect them. Not sure if you can spend them in Debenhams. I know Argos will take them as payment on goods though

Good luck with this everyone. I shan't be joining this month but hope to next month.

Just a thought scuzz, I know you don't use your tescos vouchers to convert to deals for yourself but rather than use them instore you could sell them on ebay. It's a little more work, you have to convert them to the buyers choice of deals yourself and then post them off to the buyer. But it's well worth it as you can often get around twice the face value of the points vouchers. Could turn your £80 a year into almost £160!

Okay started this off in conjunction with the Grocery Challenge and have done my first shop with savings so £8.72 to add to the pot already (lots of yellow stickies at MrT's plus half price dishwasher tabs). If I did this every week I would have about £450 - gosh that makes you think!!
  • Oh great to be starting this again. I saved so much before I fell off the wagon and I am determined to keep it up this year. Doing well so far: used a money off code for Currys when I bought a new telly for us all (£20+ free delivery), of course I used a cashback site and cashback credit card (not sure of saving yet); then I got £10 pigsback voucher in post; then numerous bogof's and some money off coupons. So I've made a good start but not sure I can maintain this every month.

Can someone explain the Pigsback thing to me? I signed up for it a while ago and did the clicking thing, but they seem to have changed the offers page and now I don't get so many offers (I admit that I have had a few e-mails from them but didn't read them so they might have told me about changes to the site!). Also when do you get vouchers sent, and what can you spend them on? (I've got £4.90 at the moment). Thanks in advance.
  • If you go on to the pigsback home page you will see the pink banner with things like 'rewards' or 'my account'. These links will show you how many points you have and what you can redeem them for. Sorry if this is a bit vague but it's all I can remember from memory. What I am certain about is that vouchers aren't sent to you unless you redeem and request them.

I thought as much. I've been on my rewards page and tbh none of the things are of any use to me so I don't think I'll bother doing it any more.
