I am struggling with the 3 symbols for the cypher. The printed page has a sun (however only 6 points not eight) the letter I and an = but they don’t seem to give me anything meaningful when I convert the code?

you are on the right lines, pardon the pun, match up the code wheel and don't worry about 6 rather than 8 points.

I have done that but get a random sequence of letters or numbers with 4 lots of ? Marks. Neither lead me to anywhere when put after royal mint.com. ☹️

I'm still completely stuck after doing the gaps with math and following the link :(

I guess I'm lining up the sun on the coin with the I and = on the cipher wheel to read off the 4 lines of codes

Got no idea...the penny definitely hasn't dropped on this bit yet... My moire pattern isn't as defined as a previous poster, I've got a sun with 6 'rays' but haven't got a clean looking equals sign....more like a roman font 'I' with brackets touching it.....completely perplexed at what to do next...
