As I've mentioned already, it is far from universal coverage, there are many areas where no speed limit will be displayed.

Live data is not needed. Just "WTH am I and HTH do I get home?"
An 80yo does not need to be downloading offline maps to her phone.0 -
The real question is why did they not just ask dealer to explain in built sat nav, instead of letting them set up AA?

they do if they are using google maps/android auto and don’t have a signal
If they can drive then they should be able to download maps

It normally only displays the speed limit if you are following directions, not when it is just displaying the map.
