    (Good answer above^^, Glen 🙂 )

You may well be covered - I understand you should be. Dealer-supplied cars do have a warranty in effect, and should certainly be covered by the CRA 2015 to be of 'satisfactory quality', 'fit for purpose', and 'as described'.

The detail will be in the description, including any questions you asked of it. 'Screenshot' the full advert now.

'Rust', if 'surface', can be coated and should then be fine. If structural - or near-so - then the car is clearly not of sq or ffp.

Check the ad for details regarding warranty.

Let us know the detail of what your garage found. If there is a major issue, then I understand (but you'd need to check) you can reject the car within 30 days. If it isn't a major issue, then you will likely need to let the supplying dealer sort it, or them arrange to do so. And that will likely need for you to return it.

Q - do you have Legal Protection on your house insurance policy? If so, see if it covers 'purchases' and 'contracts', that sort of stuff. If so, call them up right away, and ask for advice. But, you'll really need your garage's report first.

Armed with this advice, you contact the dealer or Cazoo - whoever your contract was with.

    Good luck.

(I agree with others - although you paid tops for the delivery, it isn't a major issue, and it could well be a 'fixed' price they charge, so I wouldn't pursue it - focus on the important points, including whether you can reject the car. But, make sure it really is as bad as you currently fear - it may not be.)

(I disagree with others who reckon that you should determine whether a car is mechanically and structurally sound. You do that if you buy privately, but should expect a minimum standard if buying from a dealer - including protection if it isn't.)

The problem with getting cars inspected at main dealers etc after the purchase is they are going to come up with a list of issues to either make money or to cover their backs

It's a bit like getting an RAC inspection before purchase. They are usually not mechanics and will come up with issues to cover themselves

In an ideal world inspections should be done by someone who can see that the car isn't new, there will be issues and is clear with the buyer that their budget, age of the vehicle and mileage reflect in the inspection.

I thought Cazoo had ceased trading and the new incarnation is just a listing platform but you then buy from the individual dealership.

Can the OP confirm, is the contract with Cazoo or someone else?

Seemingly getting annoyed because he asked for directions to the station. You have local knowledge, he didn't. Why would this annoy you?

Given the comments about rust, can you clarify what sort of age, relative price vehicle we're talking about here? Reasonable expectations are VERY different from a 1yo car that's priced at the upper end of the market to a 12yo cheapie.

As for if £200 delivery is reasonable - you clearly thought so, else you'd have jumped on the train and collected it. Did they specify HOW it was being delivered, or did you assume?

Is your purchase contract actually with Cazoo? I suspect not. As has been said, they're now no different to Autotrader (they're actually just another brand for motors.co.uk), just a listings platform, rather than the actual online seller they used to be until they went under in May 2024. They certainly do list low-end stuff, a quick look near me finds a 14yo £2k Corsa…
