Answer. Opened Wordpad and copied text from there that I have been using for some years without problem

    What Should happen:

Answer. The text should appear EXACTLY as copied

    What happened:

Answer The Rich text editor decided to alter the pasted text

This looks like it is related to automatic user tagging with the @ and is related to this issue: forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6653001/re-tagging-someone

It might be worth upvoting that post as well (I am upvoting both as the issue happens whenever pasting text containing the @ symbol).

    Hi everyone

We were told that there should be some changes this week.

I've done some testing and email addresses pasted don't seem to be turning into mentions now. - for me anyway.

Is anyone still seeing this issue?

    Thanks @MSE_Stephen

I've just tested the copying and pasting on this single line:

    email: comps@music-news.com

    "PASTE" gives:
    email: comps@music-news.com
…and the "mailto" is maintained thus giving a fully working email address. This is an improvement.

Unfortunately when copying a multi-line formatted section you still get an abomination eg. copying this 4-line section:

To enter, name one artist on our new Tickets Directory
answer: Foo Fighters (I suppose there is a slight chance this may change in coming weeks)
    email: comps@music-news.com
    subject: EUGENE MCGUINNESS

"PASTE" gives the following - the email address is OK but the format - line spacing, font etc is destroyed:

To enter, name one artist on our new Tickets Directory

    answer:

    Foo Fighters

     (

I suppose there is a slight chance this may change in coming weeks

    )

    email: comps@music-news.com

    subject:

    EUGENE MCGUINNESS

"PASTE AS PLAIN TEXT" gives the following - This is actually an improvement as it no longer takes the "@" as a mention - you just have to redo the fonts and make the email address work when you previously had to also retype the email address in full.

To enter, name one artist on our new Tickets Directory
answer: Foo Fighters (I suppose there is a slight chance this may change in coming weeks)
    email: comps@music-news.com
    subject: EUGENE MCGUINNESS

Incidentally, when I do want to use "@" for a mention it seems to be "Loading" for a longer time before the list of members comes up.
