Well at least its something - so many accounts have matured recently with no replacements. 5% and variable is not the best but it is better than my easy access (depending on what happens with the BOE today if 5% is still good enough)

But at least there is one withdrawal - I am thinking that it will be a useful sum to have when we get to April 2027 and thinking about the ISA for 2027/2028 and gathering the funds together ….

Does this mean £1600 from the maturing account on November 19th plus whatever to make up to £2000 - and then can I add another £200 on December 1st or would this not be allowed as its within the 1st month so the 2nd payment would go in on December 20th??? Am I over thinking this …

Will this account have the same account number do you think? Just wondering if I need to restart the SO or wait until the 19th for the new SO

I read the T&C's and all mentions are of 'calendar month', thus I'll be making that £200 deposit on Dec 1.

    WEST BROM

My 6 month regular saver matured the other day so I thought I’d be eligible as a customer to open a new 5% RS despite the post code rule, just to keep the ball rolling. “No chance I was told, but you can keep going with the 2.10% if you want to.” So, just to keep the relationship I decided to open an easy access account with a quid or two. Filled out the application and waited, but came back, “We were unable to verify your I.D. with the information supplied - we need to see some documentation.”?? I moved all my balance out.

The 2.1% would have downgraded to an Easy Access eventually, no need to submit a new application.

It is a shame the West Brom RS Issue 8 onwards [online] is now postcode locked to the Midlands B, DY, WS, WV, SY [EDIT and Branch opening].

Perhaps we are a victim of our own success, I had four regular savers end over the last 5 days with no direct replacements.
