"Is it worth it all" - I understand the varying opinions on this. I am retired, so I have more spare time for my "hobby" of which RS`s is only a part - there is Stoozing, switching, cashback offers etc. There are two of us in the game which makes it even more lucrative. A gain of £3 multiplied many times is substantial. Compound this gain each year and you can see the benefit. We are aware of having too much cash and no investments. We have between 60/40 and 50/50 investments /cash and MMF`s. Investments have done very well but it is reassuring to have a large safety net of cash which with active management is returning well above inflation. If there is a crash we will put more cash into investments to keep balanced.

    Hanley

Yes, you're quite right. Now that I can log in and see the transactions, it's the August interest only that's been added recently (31/08/2026).

Hanley - OH did his withdraw through the website with no issues. But when I came to do my withdrawal the drop down box did not show my linked bank account and the only option was the other regular saver. I rang them to see if there was a quick fix which there wasnt so in the end I had to send a secure message

Hinkley - sent off our forms on Monday for myself and OH - no response via email as yet even though others have had their new accounts opened next day. But this morning one cheque for £250 was cashed but not the other cheque- so one account has been opened but we dont know yet which one.

Tipton - OH still cant open the app and I doubt he ever will now. I wont make any further payments until and if the issue is ever resolved …

    Hanley TAR09 Branch Regular Saver

Has anyone's branch version matured yet? Mine doesn't mature until the middle of December, and I notice its still on sale. The T&Cs state you can make two withdrawals - I was wondering whether its possible to close it and reopen a new one, if anyone's had any experience of this?

Not yet, my branch one matures middle of next week, online it seems you can set maturity instructions despite it being a branch-only account. I will look to open up another after maturity by branch visit. I suspect a message to request £300 be used to open a new one would fall on deaf ears so didn't bother.

That's good. I was just worried about nearly £4k sitting at a low rate until I had time to pop up, so was thinking about popping up before it matured to close and reopen. As long as maturity instructions can be set online, will save me trying to time a visit. I shall await your post on how it goes!

    Hinckley

Account appeared online this afternoon (existing customer having left the matured RS1 open with a minimal balance.) Cheque hasn't cleared yet and no email.

Possible that only those who asked to fund by FP are getting emails, as I assume a passbook gets sent given the postal application and they don't want to produce and send it if the applicant fails to fund the account within the given window.

Just in case you had hoped to open it online: the Hanley RS still available is the Branch saver.

I realise that - I just didn't want the effort of two trips, hoping to close existing and open one in one trip. But if the existing one can be closed online, saves having to time the trip
