When did you get that? Virgin don't communicate with me electronically, and I only get the odd letter
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
I have the same account It matures on 28th August. I received an email on 14/08/26 reminding me of maturity

I took a slightly different approach, already having an Easy Access with £1.02 in it. I first requested £499.98 to pre-existing Easy Saver, then about £5.5K to my Nationwide account (my nominated account is Halifax.) Both of these were one after the other first thing this morning. Once the requested amounts had been debited from the matured account at around lunchtime, I requested the balance to my NatWest account. This automatically closed the matured account, so no need to log into the website to request closure of the surplus account.
When the £499.98 arrived in the old Easy Access, I requested £500 to an Issue 8 Regular Saver, allowing the interest that was paid earlier this year to be removed and the balance of the Easy Access returned to £1. The closed account disappeared from the app before the funds landed in the nominated accounts, with both sets of funds landing at just before 5pm despite being requested at least 4 hours apart. 2pm is cut off for requests to be processed that day, but doing it earlier doesn’t in my experience speed up the process. The £500 was showing in the Regular Saver 8 before the receipt of the external funds, despite going through an old Easy Access on route.
This was all done in app, had I used the website I don’t think I would have been able to see the £506.39 in interest until tomorrow and would have had to use my nominated account for £12K plus change.1 -

I did read it. However, online will not accept my nominated account, so I used the form (are they seriously saying if I hadn't registered for online, they'd pay into my account, but as I am online, they won't?
Anyways I won't be able to withdraw when it matures as they won't accept the account. I guess it'll have to be a written letter. No passbook was issued. Let's see what happens!

I don't believe this was a passbook account.

Ah thanks! Since it's too late to open and deposit this month (apparently the payment needs to go in by the 25th) I'll do it on the 1st!

it’s not too late - just open the account today and immediately put your £250 in. You can even do this on Friday, and may be even until Monday - though I am not sure whether weekend deposits get credited on the day of deposit. So do it today or tomorrow. Can be all done in under 10 minutes, including multiple logons.
You can then put another £250 from Sept 1.
The “by the 25th” is just there to cater for deposits made by SO in February, and perhaps in December. You can ignore this if you deposit now by Faster Payment, or by internal transfer.0
