If you currently have Lloyds monthly saver (5.25%) and Club Lloyds Monthly saver (6.25%), what happen if you close Lloyds monthly saver (5.25%) & keep Club Lloyds monthly saver. Do they allow people to open a new Club Lloyds Monthly saver paying 8% ?

No, you would need to close both.

No, breaks the new 'only one regular saver' rule.

I had an identification check fail, applying while logged in at 2am. Application stated I am tax resident in a country in addition to UK. So called today and told they forced the application through, Had same identity fail when applied for Issue 1, and resolution. AML check proves only tax resident in UK, so they were not sure about tax status when applied. Can now see account.
I asked nicely if I could open Issue 2 but no joy. Apparently Issue 2 was only available for 1 or 2 days, and short availability of Issue 2 was why Issue 3 was created and offered. Not sure if this makes sense but is what I was told.

It would make sense if they discovered an exploitable ambiguity or omission in the T&Cs. Make Issue 2 NLA sharpish, fix and review the T&Cs then offer Issue 3.

Issue 2 terms were identical to Issue 1 terms as far as I'm aware (that also had a short window of availability, circa 6 months before Issue 2 if I recall correctly.)
It seems likely that they have simply decided to stop offering an open ended product, since this Issue 3 matures after 12 months. I believe Issue 2 was available at the same time as a matures after 12 month ISA version, so they could have made the change to be consistent I guess.

I was just speculating on what @Born2Save_3 was told
