Yes, I think there is a bit of willy-waving there. I've been following the thread, as I've picked up a couple of tips, such as how to work out the average return on my regular savers, which I can track month by month.

I think can also encourage others to play the regular saver game, but at the same time put others off.

The only reason I've got what I've got in regular savers is because I also play the 0% credit card game as well, so have 0% debt matching what I've got in regular savers!

I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

You are right, turns out this is a lot less useful than I thought. Sorry for raising hopes

How can one generate cash from a 0% credit card? If this is not the correct forum to ask this question, please can you signpost me to a more relevant forum.

    Many thanks in anticipation.

MaxBlax - Click on Categories at top of this page - Click on the sub section called Stoozing which is part of the Credit Cards heading.

Get a 0% purchases zero fee CC for up to 25 months. Set up DD`s to pay the minimum each month. Use that CC for everything and put the money you haven`t actually spent into RS`s. Pay off the CC balance one month before the offer runs out.

I've been Stoozing since the early 2000s. There's two ways, the one I've used is:

Use a 0% on purchases credit card to do your normal spending, and save the money you would have used to put in a savings account. When the 0% approaches expiry, use a 0% balance transfer card to transfer the debt.

Others use a 0% balance transfer card immediately and then use a money transfer card to move the money again to a current account then to a savings account.

When I started Stoozing there was a 0% Egg Money card which allowed you to transfer a balance from a credit card straight to a savings account. I still have a descendant of this card as a Barclaycard paying 0.5% cashback on everything I spend money on (as well as constant 0% money and balance transfer offers). If I remember correctly, that Egg Money card also paid 1% cashback on everything.

Stoozing died down during the 2008 financial crisis as interest rates didn't make it worth it, although I had (and still have) an offset mortgage which allows me to borrow money willy-nilly at my mortgage rate, which I take advantage of when it's worth it (it's not worth it these days, but certainly was when I was paying less than 1% interest on it).

Stoozing has seen a bit of a resurgence in the last couple of years or so since savings interest rates have increased

I have two, which are Coventry Sunny Day Issue 2 and Stafford Building Society, both paying 4.15%. These receive the minimum required only, £10 to the former as it earns a prize draw entry and £25 to the latter as it is an open ended product that I would not be eligible for were their postcode restrictions to be reintroduced for new applications. Having close to £14k to find a home for in August, the £1k monthly limit may come in useful then. The passbook means I'm less likely to spend money earmarked for a specific purpose, while I would hate to have to raid higher payers if I needed some funds.

Trouble with forums is there's no body language and each person doesn't know the other, so no one knows how to take the other poster.

I think the odd comment or discussion is fine, but it's when you get a dozen pages of the same thing.
