That makes sense. I applied on my desktop pc, @clairec666 can I ask, did you apply on a touch screen device?

Bucks BS
…it's a typed signature.2 -
BucksBS. I applied on an ipad, which offered me the opportunity to type my signature in a handwriting font. At the end of the process I got a web page which said application succesful, with a reference number and that staff will be in touch with account details in next 2 days. E-mails so far are just about how to get online, no account details.
At 6.4% they are going to be busy. Wikipedia says they have the same number of staff as TeachersBS.1 -
This is same experience as with Teachers for myself and OH. Both of us applied on a PC, both new customers, mine was accepted, OH failed.

Not for me it wasn't. I was able to squiggle my squiggle using an Android phone

There was an option for a typed signature, but it might be that the system is playing up if it detects that the device is not a mobile device. I chose to sign with my finger as best I could as I thought that would be more secure than typing a signature.

If I may I'd like to make a plea:
For those who are applying for the Buckinghamshire BS RS then please do not phone them asking for updates as they'll almost certainly be snowed under and all it would do is increase the length of time it takes to get accounts open as they'd be spending ages on the phone instead of processing the applications.
I'm sure they'll get there in the end, so your best bet is to sit and do nothing and give them a good couple of weeks to get on with it.
The same goes for Furness BS for that matter.
Additionally if they ever send you an email saying they've done something do not reply just to say "thank you" as it really irritates people if they've got work coming in left right and centre and they keep having to deal with pointless emails that contain nothing of use at all. I know it's one of my pet peeves so it likely shall be for others as well.

If anyone is making phone calls, it should be those whose applications failed, if Bucks do not contact them as stated. For those who have a reference number, it does not matter how long the processing takes as they will have to honour the application as it was submitted while the account was on sale. As it is a date of first funding account, you don't lose any of the term even if it takes a week or so to get the details.
I find it baffling that anyone would phone them, especially when they have said 2 working days. Or reply to emails. If you want to thank them fill in a survey if they send one, or leave them a TrustPilot review or similar.

FWIW:
Buckinghamshire BS - As a new customer, surprisingly straightforward, quick and easy application process from a laptop (inc. multiple options for giving a signature); received 2 emails, successfully logged into online banking, and now awaiting the account details once they've processed the application.
