I have no idea if it’s related to this or not but I have recently repeatedly started getting this message when I click on a notification for a new reply in a thread. It only happens with the new replies.
You don't have permission to do that.Sorry, you’ve landed on a page that doesn’t exist. If you found yourself here after clicking a link on this site please email us on: BrokenLink@moneysavingexpert .com and let us know which page you clicked the link from and we’ll sort it out.
I have to refresh and then click on the post again to be able to see it properly. So the page does exist, but for some reason I am being told it doesn’t.this is an iPhone using Safari

This happens when the first new post on a thread is deleted. There has been an uptick in people deleting and reposting due to forum issues. The notifications target an individual post.

No, I think it’s more than that. It is every time I get a notification that there is a new comment. I do not believe that every single thread I am signed up to has the last comment deleted each time I look.

That does sound like something is going wrong. Can you paste examples of these broken links and corresponding thread links?
Here's an example I have from this thread: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/81860833#Comment_81860833
However for me, I only see one or two of these per day amongst 20+ notifications.

It has just done it on this last comment from you. So unless you deleted it and reposted it…..
I see the notification. I click the link I get that message. I go back to notifications. I refresh the page. I click the link again and this time it shows me the post. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

That's very strange. All of my notifications are in the form: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/…
I've never seen notifications with /activity/…/mark-read-and-redirect either on mobile or desktop. I see the same notifications in the top-right bell icon as I do when I go to https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/profile/notifications
Your links look like they are visiting an intermediate page, which marks the notification as read, and should then redirect to the actual post. It seem it is the first part that isn't working for you (or is intermittently failing), whereas I get directed straight to the post.

If I go back and refresh the page, then it takes me straight to the post. It is a comparatively new thing that has started happening.
