Lebara SIM only does not work
It seems Lebara does not offer a 5G mobile data service, and the 4G - and often only 3G! - service that you get simply doesn't work. You can't use any apps on your phone that require an internet connection unless you're on wifi. Plus their customer service is shocking, they shunt you across multiple teams (every one a callback), India-based, callbacks are at 7am in the morning and if you don't answer the call they close your ticket immediately.
Two family members had this experience, one in Liverpool the other in Solihull. They couldn't get mobile data service working on their phones at all, so they've both cancelled Lebara and gone with other providers.
It's no good, so please stop promoting it.

I am sure there are many more that are working fine, 2 here working with no problems, and there are many on other networks that have problems too.3

I've had Lebara on two iPhones for a while and never have got a 5G connection. However the 4G connection works well enough.1

Agree on customer service issues with Lebara.
To be fair to them, I had no problems until Vodafone merged with Three. I left Three (after successfully getting a 12 month refund via ofcom) because of poor connectivity which I argued was down to Three rationing 4G access and poor signal coverage.
Out of interest which service did the OP move to?Free thinker.:cool:0 -
We've got 3 lebara sims in our household from the mse deal. Never had any issues with 4g or 5g, have only used customer service once but they were fine - much better than O2!1

We don't actually have 5G coverage here (which is down to Vodafone, not Lebara) but the 4G coverage is everywhere with perfect call quality inside and out, there's also WiFi calling if needed. So sorry, but I'm calling nonsense on this.JQB_2 said:There are other similar threads on this site on problems with Lebara, but as I still see "MSE Blagged" for the Lebara SIM only deal on https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cheap-mobile-finder/sim-only/ I'm creating a new thread hoping Money Saving Expert website admins will sort that out.

I use it on a spare phone for a charity - all calls and texts, mainly via wifi works fine and bargain compared with our old contract0

Yup same here, no issues with 5G coverage, maybe the OP needs to check they actually have the correct data settings. I didnt for the first day, I then got a text with them on and all was well from that point…
To set up
Lebara mobile data in the UK, configure your device with APN:
uk.lebara.mobi, Username:
wap, and Password:
wap.
For Android, text "INTERNET" to 38885 to receive settings automatically.

Two sim onlys here
Working fine and my new 5g phone picks up the 5g signal when I'm in town

Lebara SIM works fine for me, including 5G 👍

I've been with Lebara for nearly 5 years, I get 5G signal routinely so it's entirely fair for MSE to promote
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
