Oh f**king dear. it says on the box (still got mine) MUST be kept upright. The panny sales man told me to keep it upright, I took mine home myself!!! Another sales/installation guy later told me the same thing, do not let it go other 5 or 10 deg. as the panel will become misaligned and then it will be *****.
Ring panny and ask their advice
Mine is on a wall bracket and I have to keep the internal packing pieces to keep it vertical if I ever take it down.0 -
Update:- two engineers called today the PDP (Plasma Display Panel) needs replacing. They are arranging for the tv to be collected and taken to their workshop to have the PDP replaced which will take 7-14 days. As I have only had the tv since July I am not very pleased. Do I only have the option to accept a repair or can I get a refund?0

I would think you would have to give them a chance to repair it first.
I am surprised they are attempting such a major repair though, it must be more cost effective for them to simply give you a new one.0 -
As CHR15 says, also I would not "trust" them to do a perfect job , alignment and test. I would have thought cheaper to get a new one. All that extra bouncing around and full strip down and rebuild. How will they get a spare panel? As it was delivered incorrectly on its side it might come back that way too. Difficult to prove either way to the courier company insurance too and you may get the blame for the damage if you mention it.....dunno mate I would go back for a full refund, not happy that it would be at its best for the next 10yrs. Tell them about delivery drivers lack of care and they are at fault and they are messing up the screens of all the plasma sets. I can photograph my box instructions.0

Thanks for comments! The panny is being collected on Monday to have its new PDP. I read somewhere on the internet that it costs £365 to replace the PDP (obviously I don't know if this is true). But if it is true that seems alot of money when the set is (in my eyes) quite new. I can't locate any definitive advice about whether we have to accept the repair or not.0
