Nationwide app biometrics

The card reader worked fine, just impractical longer term. It's not that impractical, it was the only method we had for several years and we coped. How often do you need to do the things that require a card reader when you're away from home? If it's often then it wouldn't be difficult to carry the card reader with you until you are able to use biometrics - and when you can you'll be able to come back and tell us exactly how long you need to be on the app before the function is available so we'll have a precise answer, which we don't seem to have at the moment.0 -
I only got invited to set up biometrics to get rid of using the card reader about a week ago. I assumed it was a new feature1

Ah, that's why I can't set this up.friolento said:I wasn't able to activate account biometrics because I had disabled my debit cards. The minute I enabled them again, I could active biometrics.I also had an issue with FaceID login which never worked. After re-installing the app, it is now working fine.
Wouldn't it be nice if they said this before you've dug out the card reader and entered all the numbers.
Wouldn't it be nice if they said this at the end rather than "this functionality isn't working just now",
Well quite. It took me several months to figure it out by myself. Nationwide CS, and their Branch personnel, were of zero help.0 -
Is this only available on a phone or can it be set up on an iPad?Paddle No 21:wave:0

Can't be definitive since I don't own one, but there are very few apps that will ONLY run on a phone. Can't think why Santander would be different.GibbsRule_No3. said:Is this only available on a phone or can it be set up on an iPad?
Will probably need whatever device your mobile number lives in to set it up.0 -
I see the option is there again today. It's in the profile and there is an option settings - remove the card reader
If I select it now it just says I've already removed the card reader0 -
The "remove card reader" option appeared on my app yesterday.
Will go through the process tomorrow.
Still not appearing on DHs app.

Just when I thought it was available, opened the app this morning and the option has disappeared again.
I didn't tap anything last time - no "remind me later" or anything, i just logged out.
A tad temperamental it seems.
