The ultimate parent company is Smart Parking Ltd (Australia) who aren’t mentioned in the contracts

Smart's UK operation is as follows:

Both Companies are Registered in Scotland with the same address:

    SMART PARKING LIMITED
    Matching previous names:
    TOWN AND CITY PARKING LIMITED
    SC138255 - Incorporated on 13 May 1992
5 South Inch Business Centre, Shore Road, Perth, Perth And Kinross, PH2 8BW

    SMART PARKING (UK) LIMITED
    Matching previous names:
    SMART PARKING LIMITED
    SC413479 - Incorporated on 20 December 2011
5 South Inch Business Centre, Shore Road, Perth, PH2 8BW

Additionally they have an office in Birmingham.

    Unit 43, Elmdon Trading Estate,
    Bickenhill Lane,
    Birmingham,
    B37 7HE

According to their website, Smart Parking Limited SC138255 is a subsidiary of Smart Parking (UK) Limited SC413479. Smart Parking (UK) Limited is a subsidiary of Smart Parking Limited, Australian company number 119 327 169. Clear as mud.

That Birmingham address is actually behind Birmingham Airport and the NEC.

Well, aside from the geographical debate (and potential query I should raise regarding the company who signed the contract vs the company who submitted the PCN) I have emailed the N180 to the DQ address and the defended.team address for the solicitors.

Next up I assume will be remediation where I will make a point to say I offer £0 because the parking ticket was already paid.

At what point please am I given the opportunity to "defend" all of this? Is that basically if/when it comes to court, or is there another form to fill in one day?

You are now twiddling your thumbs until they discontinue.

Treat the Mediation call as a joke and a chance to tell the Mediator that they are propping up a scam industry.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Afternoon

I've had an email from defended.team at QDR asking for permission to amend their PoC.

I suppose their threat to "tell on me" to the judge holds some weight so I'll get back to them about this.

For anyone who has a deeper understanding of their redactions, is any of this something I should be scrutinising when I have my remediation call on May 13th?

    Amendments are as follows:

Read the other recent cases regarding this new phenomenon, especially one by member ChirpyChicken

Your call is mediation, not remediation, about a financial settlement, not about the case

Tell them no you do not consent

You will contest their application. Basically they are hoist by your own petard

Read the QDR thread by the above poster! This has been discussed a couple of weeks ago.

They'll likely discontinue when you don't let them have the ball. In fact they'll probably have to because you will be past the 6 year limitation by then. They are vanishingly unlikely to pay for an application and won't be able to start again, either.

Thanks all. I read the other thread, but there's no real clarity on how best to address the solicitor.

Would an email like this suffice?

    Good morning

Thankyou for your email stating you have presented an incorrect statement of case to the court.

I do not consent to the amendment.

I assume they'll just apply to the court to make the amendment.
