It sounds like Option 1 is the one you (or your m-i-l) want, unless I've completely misunderstood?N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Yes option 1 but Nan doesn’t know how to send an email to enquire. And all research is saying it’s too difficult and expensive that it is not an investment and the timeshare holders will owe thousands to Seasons including maintenance fees which aren’t actually written in the contract.Only way to find out is to email Seasons.0

There must be some people who just forget these things ever existed. So sort out an estate without including it, never inform the time share company of anything and hope that by the time the timeshare actually chase up the deceased many years have passed and there is little the time share company practically can doI'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Risky but that could happen because we don’t have trust in Nan to ask Seasons to cash out give it back. There’s no Seasons timeshare owners online to talk about their experiences. Nobody saying if they managed to sell their 26 keys. There must be thousands of buyers.0

https://timeshareconsumerassociation.org.uk/2023/11/08/seasons-slaley-hall-problems-game-over/Looks like people are totally stuck.
Salesmen say it’s an investment and you can cash out. Contracts say no maintenance fees but people complaining about fees not written in their contracts.
No regulated bodies
These companies are free to do as they please.I just can’t understand why Daughter Grandparents signed up to a stupid financial burden. Why she forgot to mention it to us or even offer to go with my Daughter on a holiday there. They only used it, went there 3 times and Nan is saying the lodge was outdated and scruffy. But she failed to complain to Seasons. Can’t believe she forgot she had a timeshare!0 -
Is helping Nan with an email not something you are able to do?lisa_2023 said:Yes option 1 but Nan doesn’t know how to send an email to enquire. And all research is saying it’s too difficult and expensive that it is not an investment and the timeshare holders will owe thousands to Seasons including maintenance fees which aren’t actually written in the contract.Only way to find out is to email Seasons.
We are having to help my elderly parents sort out my 100yo Nan's estate cos otherwise they'd be getting themselves very stressed and stuck. With permission from Dad (Nan's executor) my husband has been able to speak to various companies on his behalf.0 -
Yep we have been doing all the emails and phonecalls and trips to solicitor. Daughter was left with arranging grandads funeral. Everything has actually been dumped on her. It’s physically impossible to do it all when she’s at work til 7pm and some weekends. We’ve spend today doing emails on her behalf. The point is she’s out shopping and luncheons whilst we are trying to help. No time for us to go out for lunch. Oh and she throws it back at us that she is independent, educated and knows what’s she’s doing.
My point is. Solicitors haven’t been any help. Timeshare exit firm no good.FCO replied Friday they aren’t interested. If these legal law professionals and ombudsman’s won’t do anything how are we expected to get her out of it. Because Seasons won’t let her go that easily and cheaply. I know she’s up the creek without a paddle.0 -
The lawyers know there is nothing they can do and would be taking money under false pretences if they agreed to act.If Seasons are acting in accordance with the signed contract then the ‘legal law professionals ‘ have nothing to act against. If nan doesn’t want help there is no point in getting worked about her ignoring the issue.0

Option 4. Nan hands it back to Seasons. Contract finished. Timeshare relinquished. No further maintenance fees. End. They may ask for a get out payment.
As above, we had to pay 2k to get ourselves out of a timeshare. We loved the place but just didn't go, so decided to offload two years ago.
Email and see what they say. Don't suggest paying a get-out!
I understand the solicitors not getting involved in the sale of the timeshare but hopefully they would read any documentation to make sure Nan is totally off the hook, if Seasons agree to Option 4.1 -
Ok thanks
we will visit her tomo evening do an email
hopefully they will let her end
How long did it take for you to get out yours ?1
