Insulation, noise reduction, cover vent
Photo removed....
Would it be ok to cover the vents in the eaves for just the two sides and front of the bay shown with blue line?
It's N&E facing.
The rest all around the property is clear and well ventilated.
I'm trying to stop the sound of neighbours son leaving in car at 4.30am waking me as the bay is my bedroom.
I have other small measures on the go.

Covering the vents in the eaves is likely to result in higher humidity and possibly condensation in the loft.
Fibreglass insulation is not that great at stopping noise, rock wool is better. I don't think this will help your noise but clearly if there is no insulation there it needs some for energy efficiency but keep it back from the vents
I'd ask him to reverse in that will have some effect on noise from him leaving, assuming it's the car next to your house.2 -
I think what I have is rock wool. It was flagged from a nearby builder as a left over.
I'll photograph it.
What if it's just the vent on that little bit of side and halfway across the front?
The house is exposed being on a bank so lots of ventilation on all sides 🤞
There we go

That's not rockwool. I would not block the vents.1

Is it not possible to move your bedroom to the back?1
-
Not at all.
It would mean half living room, half bedroom with only patio doors so no opening window.
Bedroom wou be small living room with ensuite and fitted wardrobes where I'd get washed and dressed.
Small bedroom would mean dismantling my studio, built in shelves and living with coats and boots.
I've got my eye open to move but waiting an operation and don't know when fit to do so.
Just looking to get through that with some sleep.
I've covered (not blocked) the air vent that I found and that's made a huge difference.
Looking into making sure even tiny gaps in window frame are sealed and taped the inside.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

This may be a bit left-field, but have you thought about ear-plugs? Just those cheap foam ones often used by factory workers and the like. They cost peanuts, and being foam you barely even notice they're in - they're not at all uncomfortable or irritating. The only downside, I guess, is that you may not hear your alarm clock - if that's a concern applicable to you.1

I keep my phone on to hear because I have a 90yr old neighbour, dodgy on her feet and health issues.
I need to be on hand in case she needs help.
She was the one to help me when I needed an emergency dash to casualty. Sharp as a tack.
But thanks. I've looked again and the nearest side is less than 2ft . I'll cut a separate piece to go in there. If it causes a problem easy to get out.
There's also acoustic frame sealant so can try that.
Going to cut soundproof board to fit in/take out the window when it is warmer and doesn't cause condensation.
Heavy curtains with heavy lining.
The guy can't walk the 10mins to work 😬I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

You'll likely struggle for noise insulation. Noise is a bit like water, it will find any gap. Easiest solution is to speak to the neighbour. If they reversed parked onto that drive, they could roll down the street in almost silence on a morning an not disturb you. I used to work in noise nuisance, and I'd say (anecdotally) at least 70% of complaints were made against people who genuinely didn't know they were causing a problem.1

Thanks Phil. I spoke to the neighbour last year.
With the old car she asked him to park further down the road. Then she bought him a newer car and won't do that.
But he's not a person who thinks of others in any way. Not even his mother.
