Nope, definately an activation problem with Apple. Vodafone SIM works fine but O2 SIM reports
SIM Not Supported.Have tried three times now to obtain this unlock code. Each time Vodafone send an email asking me to verify the email address, which I do, and then I get a message that the unlock code will be send within ten days.
How can I force Vodafone to unlock this phone?

I'm not getting that far; everytime I put a non-Vodaphone SIM in it still errors with "SIM not supported".

Make sure the new SIM is not in the iPhone 6. In settings RESET the iPhone so that it returns to the as new state.
Turn off the iPhone, and turn on the iPhone. Connect to WIFi, You should see the phone activating. Once it’s set up then put the new SIM in.
