Hello all and thank you @Coxy11 for starting a brand new thread. I haven't been around for quite a while but have been cross-stitching. Pics to follow.
Hope everyone is ok, especially those who have been in and out of hospitals recently. Take care.

Hi ladies, sorry i've not posted in a while i don't know where the time goes lately. Welcome to all the new members and great updates from everyone.
Auti, glad your chemo has finished and you can put it behind you :)
Coxy, you've made amazing progress on your post box topper, can't wait to see it. Maybe wash the post box at night too, haha. Sorry to read about you being bitten by a dog, i hope you are on the mend. The flowers were a request from a MH charity, the display is for a event at easter i think, will get photos once its done.
I have made a start on my lakeside crochet cardigan free pattern here Lakeside Crochet Cardigan - MJ's off the Hook Designs this is longer than the crop length in the pattern, i will make it hip length need to measure it against a jumper so i know how many rows i need to do.

posted in another craft thread then realised it said 2025 (no craft spending - will bust my stash) so will post here too. Was fed up yesterday - a little toddler stamping feet - radiotherapy and whilst chemo finished now I am getting side effects! radiotherapy also now finished and as I left on last time (Friday)
she gave me a printed sheet - it outlines what to now expect and it basically involves pain….. So I decided to crochet this :)
Just to say I am not as fed up today but really would like to see some sunshine!

Hi all,
Welcome back @KnottedSkein - please send photos of your WIPs!!
You've made a great start to the cardigan @nmm x
Hope you're feeling a bit brighter @Auti and the side effects are getting easier to bear. My BIL is having immunotherapy atm and is completely wiped out with fatigue and a nasty rash. The jellyfish is adorable - is that for gifting or selling or just for you? Thinking of you x
I have completed my first post box topper - made 5 daffodils and 3 tulips in the end. It's all ready to be installed at some point when this weather ever gives us a break! Maybe the last weekend of Feb is the time to do it as it's Spring theme. Have already started on the Easter themed one by making a bunny and several Easter eggs.
Hope everyone is doing okay
Coxy xx

@Coxy11. Yes I am feeling brighter - went to local city today as a half term treat with child and had a good time and even had some gluten free vegetarian chips with GF vinegar and they were awesome!! Where I am no chips as either cooked in beef dripping or cross contamination/frozen chips :(
Jellyfish was just I needed something quick to do and did not fancy sewing the cushion together - a bit of a mission which I might do tonight. I found some cotton yarn I can use to make some more and I might see if I can give them away as random acts.
Your post box topper sounds awesome and will really make people smile - well done - and yes weather is pants!
I think I was not expecting new side effects after the treatment finished and as not really had side effects as such it seemed unfair they are here and worse! Got my head around it and it is what it is - at least it is still cold so I can wear a hat as new growth makes me look like a deranged electrified mop lol and tying it back with what is left of my long hair is beginning not to work as long hair getting less - should be better by end of March :) and so should my nails which luckily does not interfere with craft! The white gloves do look rather swish though :)
If I get the cushion cover sewn tonight I will post tomorrow - I went rogue as the Woll they said is no longer available and the substitution looked awful to me colourwise so I chose yarn on colour and then adapted pattern lots to get what I wanted lol :)
Have a good weekend everyone and hopefully it might stop raining and we might see the strange thing called sun :) xxx

Hi Everyone
I picked up a crochet hook for the first time in my life a month ago, and in that time i've gone from a very wobbly looking heart motif to a "granny square" poncho!! I used a mandala self striping yarn and it came out pretty good, for a beginner.
For my next project, i'd like to do a 'holey' cardigan, and i've seen what looks like a fairly simple tutorial on youtube, but any tips would be appreciated.
I can knit, a bit, and have done a blanket with 'squares' (I use that term loosely)…wish i'd used granny squares now. I think i'll add some applique flowers to the squares, just to jazz it up a bit. NOT going to frog it!!!!
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.24% of current retirement "pot" (as at end December 2025)3 -
posted cushion cover in 2025 thread - will remember this is new one (probably in December!).

Hi all,
Fantastic cushion @Auti lovely colours. Well done for adapting it - that takes skill!!
Hi and Welcome to @Sea_Shell - sounds like you’ve made great progress with your crochet - it’s addictive isn’t it?! Please post photos when you can. It’s been a lovely day here and I managed to walk to the Post Office and Library after work. I’ve made some more Easter eggs for my second topper - first one going on either Friday or Saturday. Will take photos once it’s up. I got out a library book and might make some butterflies for the Spring one too. Just seeing what’s possible as I’m at the theatre tomorrow so only really have tonight and Friday.
Take care everyoneCoxy xx

@Coxy11 - I don’t know about skill desperation more like :) the yarn would not frog at all so had to be careful! But all in all quite happy with it. If I did another I would be more careful about yarn composition and less about colour.
Definitely want to see photos of topper - anything nice at the theatre?
