MSE News: Sky to hike mobile prices: You've 30 days to LEAVE penalty-free – can you switch and save?
Most Sky Mobile customers – including many who are mid-contract – will see prices rise by £1.50 a month from 14 February 2026, the provider has announced. But you've got 30 days from being notified to leave penalty-free, so check now if you can save by haggling or switching and ditching...

My current 12 month deal ends on 6 February and my bill is due to increase by £6 per month. If I renegotiate now, I presume I won't see the £1.50 increase added on top come 14 February?0

I started a £1/mth deal on 18/09/25 - I wonder if Sky will try to apply a 150% increase?0

Good luck with that as this is Sky you are on about.Alpha_5 said:My current 12 month deal ends on 6 February and my bill is due to increase by £6 per month. If I renegotiate now, I presume I won't see the £1.50 increase added on top come 14 February?
Renegotiate with them and ask about the increase and then decide what to do.
In the past Sky would give you a deal and say no April rises but in about 6 months introduce one to people who became a customer in the run up to April.
Let us all know how you get on though.0 -
I missed out on that deal but there was another deal at Xmas time for £2 pm but decided against it.flaneurs_lobster said:I started a £1/mth deal on 18/09/25 - I wonder if Sky will try to apply a 150% increase?
The SIM was going to be for my dad who is with Spusu on the £2.90 pm deal and I am not sure what the new price will be for Spusu as they said no increase for 2025 but have sent email to them but reply back saying no update on rises yet.1 -
As per the linked article, it's more likely to be £1 a month rather than the £1.50. Not great, as that'll mean the £1 rate will have only been in force for about 5 months come 14th February.flaneurs_lobster said:I started a £1/mth deal on 18/09/25 - I wonder if Sky will try to apply a 150% increase?
That said, the article also mentions that you won't be affected if "You're on certain data tariffs" so we'll have to see. Emails are going out as of today.1 -
I was notified of my price increase yesterday (7th Jan 2026) and spoke with Sky today (8th January 2026). They resisted and asked me to forward the price increase email back to them. I now have to wait for a call-back in 3 days time...0

As an update - Sky rang me back and still said no. Outside of cooling off period so no cancelling without penalty. Does anyone have a link to the Ofcom ruling preventing them from doing this as they are clearly not following it?0 -
I'm guessing there's nothing about leaving fee free in the email?88engine said:
